It's something Paul George will never understand... Unless he became a Laker.

You do know the Lakers were going to draft George Hill, but the Spurs grabbed him right in front of them, so they went with Farmar as a backup plan.

I would love to see George Hill in L.A. at some point.

Umm...Farmar was drafted in 2006 and Hill was drafted 2008. Lakers only pick in the draft in 2008 was around the 50's..so I can't say the Spurs "grabbed him in front of them".

Fido is wrong on the player aspect but the Lakers were planning on trading up to grab Hill early in the second round. It was almost a certainty that Hill was going to be taken in the second round but the Spurs surprised everyone by taking him in the first round instead.

Given the history of every state in the union, ou can point out that racism was institutionalized at one time or another. I give no credence to racism playing a part in their attendance. If that were the case why does their state follow their college teams so closely? I'm sure the attendance has nothing to do with marketing, other things to do in Indiana, or pricing right ?

Johnson #1 pick. James Worthy #1 pick.

Kobe, traded for because of Jerry West.

When we talk about scouting, we are talking about late 1st round draft picks & second rounders. Lakers have done terrible in that department, while the Spurs thrive.

I get what you're saying but its kinda hard getting hall of famers from 60th pick, and we've actually gotten some pretty good players , think Marc Gasol.. 60th pick

But that's not the point either.  It's well known that the Lakers scouting is below average at best at identifying talent.  Granted, we haven't had a first round pick since 2009 (which is pretty crazy), we still don't exactly find productive talent like the Spurs do, especially international talent.

Since 2000, the Spurs have not had one first round pick higher than the 20th pick which was James Anderson in 2010.  Players that are still in the league that they have drafted? Tony Parker (28), John Salmons (26), Luis Scola (55), Leandro Barbosa (28), Beno Udrih (28), Ian Mahinmi (28), Tiago Splitter (28), George Hill (26), Goran Dragic (45), DeJuan Blair (37), Nando De Colo (53).

Meanwhile the Lakers have had two picks higher than the 20th pick which were Andrew Bynum (10) and Javaris Crittenton (19).  Others since 2000 that are still in the league... Luke Walton (32), Ronny Turiaf (37), Marc Gasol (48), Toney Douglas (29), Devin Ebanks (43), Darius Morris (41), and Robert Sacre (60).

The Lakers need to improve their scouting. Nothing wrong with that, just needs to happen especially if we continue to be successul and have late round picks.

If we have an achilles heel, this is it. If we can manage to capitalize on out late draft picks, look out.

I guess you could say average , but saying its terrible it's just too much . Lets hope we will never be a lottery team

it's not that I am from USA , but really .. I saw the votes on cnn , 99% of black people voted for obama, and white people were equal if I am not mistaken , now imagine if 99% of white people voted for Romney, who would be racist.. I don't mean to be racist and believe me I am far from racist , I just think it's stupid to talk about it now ..
