And there it is fellas... The winner of the last 5 games against the Jazz. Oh well, bring on the draft and free agency.

If you wanted to know who the Lakers preferred to play in the 1st round . . . you just needed to watch tonights game. They are playing really hard with nothing to play for.

I hate Vujacic. I just feel like punching him whenever I see his face.

BTW, Bynum is a [expletive].

**** Gasol in his dirty spaniard mouth.

This is getting interesting...Jazz win and this cold be big or conidence!!!

I couldn't help but laugh abouth the Sasha quote. I guess to Utah's credit, last night was one game. They played without Memo and Miles so a series is still out to be made between us and them....but they're number 8 for a reason. Let's hope their slump continues and can get us out of the first round quickly so our players get some rest.

i think with a little physical play like boston last year, the jazz can give the lakers a run for their money pushing it to 7 games

**end dream thought now**

I guess the sweep starts at Los Angeles.

Lakers - 137
Utah - 88

I'm speachless, i don't see any light at the end of the tunnel I think the Jazz win game 3 but lose four and 5.I feel Sloan will either retire or get fired.

I thought Jazz had a chance a week ago but Jazz play to their Defenseless potential tonight and get drilled by Lakers. Its a sweep!!!! Jazz players have no heart!!!!

Can Karl Malone still play?
Mutumbo at age 42 still is playing.
Bring the Mailman out of retirement.

If the Jazz manage to win one of their home games and don't get completely embarrassed in the other 4 it will be a success. Unfortunately, though, we're probably looking at a blowout sweep.

Why, no. No I do not.

Not only do I not think the Jazz can beat the Lakers, I expect it to be a really, really embarassing series for Jazz fans.

Um, that would be.....no.

Will you finally stop making new threads that just belong in the game thread anyway????
this isnt about the game thread
this is about odom raping jazz since playoff last year
and if sloan does not make adjustments the raping will go on for atleast the next 4 games.

i dont put this in the game thread because this isnt about this particular game

just lamar odom in general raping jazz

Jazz have no one to match up against Odom. No one that can stop Gasol and Bynum from posting up. And no one that can stop Kobe once he decides to take over the game. With the exception of PG, the Jazz are outmatched at every position.
1. Gasol > Boozer
2. Bynum >> Okur
3. Kobe >>>>>>>>>>>>>Brewer
4. Ariza > Miles or Hapring
5. Fisher <<<< Williams

And I'd take the Laker's bench.
Odom >>> Millsap
Vujacic >> Korver
Farmar vs. Knight - tossup
Walton vs. AK/Harp. Give this one to AK, but not by much as of late.

Least excited I've ever been for the playoffs... :(

...hold me.

So... who do you think the Lackers will be playing in the 2nd round?

I view this upcoming series with the same feeling I have had when I have gone to bed knowing that in the morning I was taking my dog to the vet for The Shot. It will be sad, but at least the suffering will be over quickly.

.....the best we can hope for....and I mean the absolute best, is extending this series to 6 games with two home wins.....and hope that maybe Bryant sprains an ankle or Bynum messes up his knee, so that the Lakers will not win the West or the NBA title. I just don't like them, do you? Those cheap shots on Deron last night were disgraceful! I don't mind tellin ya all...I hope the lakers crash and burn.

*beep* this *beep* of a team. Even if we take one in L.A., the Lakers are too good on the road to stumble in both Games 3 and 4. This will be over in 5 games at most and thus the reason why I will not be getting cable to watch the Jazz--the first time in over 10 years. I'll just stream the games in *beep* quality. Why do I need clarity to see us getting blown out of the water by third quarter's end?

- What do you think are the chances of a team like the Jazz ending up beating the Lakers without homecourt?
- Well, that's difficult to say. I mean, we don't really...
- Hit me with it! Just give it to me straight! I’ve cheered for a long, long time for the Jazz. The least you can do is level with me. What are our chances?
- Not good.
- You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
- I'd say more like one out of a million.
[pause]
- So you're telling me there's a chance... Yeaaahh!!!

I am amazed that some ppl here notice and marvel at the Laker's strengths only after a thorough thrashing of the Jazz. You guys need to watch NBA more. They have been this good for 2 seasons now.

All bad. Jazz = no chance. I was at the game...and Laker fans were offering condolences. And I found myself appreciative of that.

WTF HAPPENED TO THIS SEASON?

The Lakers are a really good team. They have shooters. They have skilled bigs. They have Kobe. They are quick. They are deep. They play defense. They rebound the ball. They move the ball really well. They have a great coach. They're just a tough team to play. A team has to have power, speed and skills at every position just to play with them. But yeah, Bynum and Gasol are the difference between this Laker team and the one that kept getting bounced in the first round a few years ago.

We embarrassed ourselves in front of Leo [DiCaprio]. Why, Jazz, why?!

How appropriate that the star of Titanic came to see that shipwreck of a game.

This is comedy. Here are some comments from Rockets fans

I'm going to love seeing the Jazz get beat down by the Lakers in the playoffs.

WOW, thanks, LAL.
Lakers got pissed in tonight game and decided to rape Utah's sorry [expletive] for 4 more times.

Let's all joy for the moment, all fans of NBA teams who hate Utah.

This thread is for people who are GLAD that the rockets won't be facing the (bleep) in the first round.

If you were one of the people who WANTED to face the (bleep) in the first round and thus are disappointed in the events then this thread is not for you. DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD!

I am going to enjoy the first round between the Lakers vs Utah because i know it's going to be fun. The Jazz is not going to be easy but Lakers of course will prevail. You don't normally see a top seed going against a team that is also pretty tough. And also the reason i want to watch this matchup is because i hate the Jazz and the Lakers being a former Kings' fan.

Any Rocket's fan is glad the Jazz lost. Even though I can't stand the Lakers, when they had Magic, they played the game right whereas the Jazz have been low-down dirty SOBs since Rich Kelley played.

uh yeah...i fear them.

they beat us like 1980's Tyson opponents.

repeatedly.

i love the rox...i believe in them....for real.

but there is exactly ZERO evidence to support that the ROX can beat these guys.(utah)

crucify me. im a realist.

seeing AB and Williams on the same floor is like watching one of those national Geographic films...starring a beautiful baby gazelle and a lion.

(AB is the gazelle.)

Thanks Lakers!

I couldn't help but find myself flipping off my TV with both hands and chanting "Burn in hell, Boozer," over and over again. It was like I went into a trance. I don't think it's healthy to hate a stranger that much. It most be so lonely for him not to have a friend in the entire world.

thank you lord

Here are some from the Mavs fans.

Utah can probably thank Deron for that. He wanted to try to man up on Bynum and jack at Kobe. If LA was "going through the motions" that definitely set them up. Utah had a good thing going having that counter-push run and then they started to fall back again.

Fouls/going to line probably kept Utah in this game a lot longer than they should've been.

Absolutely. Utah unnecessarily awoke the beast. Now they have the privilege of being summarily dismissed by that beast in the postseason.

Well...
Bynum threw one down and as he ran back he ran into Williams. He might've been able to move...might not have, either way Williams took offense to that. The next play down or soon there after, Williams made it a point to really put some meat into a pick he threw on Bynum. It wasn't necessary and really wasn't involved in the action of the play and he got called for a foul and lead to a timeout and Williams and Kobe were talking back and forth.

At that point, Utah bent over.

I'm crying tears of joy over this game.

Thanks LA. You just made my day.

Thank you, Los Angeles. I still hate you though.

Everyone hates Utah...

Not shocking.
