Based on what? They lost at home to a seven man JV squad from Oakland. They lost at home to Minnesota. They can't win on the road. They may be the third most talented team in the NBA but they're only the eighth best team in the West.

yea but dude once playoffs hit all that regular season is out the window
they can be very dangerous whent hey play at home and when the role players get it goin
i think that should be the main goal of the lakers not to get the role players going because deron will get his, carlos will probably get his but we cant let okur, cj, korver, matt, or brewer get it going
and y does kobe always play brewer so loosely all the time!!

we lost to charlotte twice, sacramento, miami twice, phoenix, indiana, and philadelphia

i don't see your point so according to you losing to bad teams makes you bad well then we must be awful because 8 of our 17 losses were to teams we should have killed

it does not take a rocket science to see they didn't have deron williams for 14 games, boozer for 45 games, okur for 10

they have had 3 of their top 3 players miss significant time

so to count them out and say this is easy is well foolish

I could see a sweep, but it'll probably go to 5 games. The Jazz just don't have it together as a team, while we're gelling great. Sure the Jazz on paper are loaded with talented players, but that doesn't always mean the team is great. This Jazz team doesn't have what it takes to win a 7-game series against the most talented team in the league.

This is the thing with the jazz, or the spurs, orthe hornets...they didnt make big enough improvements this year. Portland can fall to this same trap, not adding pieces to non-championship teams is a wasy to quickly close the window for your core.
The jazz thought that they could go along without any improvements and be just as good or better b/c players individually would get better, but D. Will got hurt, then Boozer, and now they are 8th. Next year they wont make the playoffs if they dont make a few tweaks to a core of D. Will, Millsap and okur..Boozer and AK47 should be out of there.
We ,on the other hand, who beat the Jazz in six(would have been 5, if Kobe's back would nt have messed up, and if he wouldnt have tried to win the game alone with said bad back) have added bynum, Ariza, Brown and Powell, and Luke is playing well again, as well as sasha being impoved overall from last year. this team should win it all
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

2nd round news: Houston is a lock for no higher than 4th seed, and no lower than 5th seed making them one half of our possible 2nd round opponent.

The 2nd half is dependent on the Blazers-Nuggets game.
Nuggets win: Blazers are the other possible opponent.
Blazers win: Spurs are the other possible opponent.

I guess we won't see Portland in 2nd round if they beat Nuggets tonight.

I think its...
Portland beats Denver = 4th seed
Portland lose to Denver = 5th seed

We're going up, there going down. Lakers in 5. D-Will is the only mis-match they have.

I'm going to say sweep, but that doesn't imply an easy series. All the games will be rough and tough, but I just don't see Utah being able to pull out a win. They are just too out-matched. I'd say a 9-12 average point margin.

We lost to Miami once, i think you meant Orlando twice.

Deron Michael Williams will have a easy time vs our point guards, but other than that we have upper hand in the other matchups. A dose of Pau and Drew in the post early should set the tone for the series and LO always gives Boozer trouble so i say in 5.

1st round usually has games at 10:30pm EST because theres so many. After round 1 they start earlier at 8:30pm EST because the schedule isnt as packed.

Why the hell are there games at 10:30 ET ? I'm going to miss some second halves... Last year every match started at 8:30 ET, home and away...
