As a life-long Cavs fan, I for one would love to see a Cavs/Lakers finals series. I am not a person who hates the Lakers, but rather a fan of the game and would like to see these two teams battle it out. I personally am tired of reading on all the sites and watching the sports shows that argue about who should be MVP. I believe a case could be made for either LBJ or Kobe. I believe both are true athletes who have have made a huge contribution to the game for the amount of time each one has been in the league. Historically, when these two teams face each other, James and Kobe very seldom make a difference anyway. Most often it has come down to other starters/ supporting role players coming through and finishing games. I for one am nervous about playing the Lakers...While I love this team and have confidence that we can beat you guys, our bench play is about average at best on most nights. The majority of the bench hasn't shown the ability to come through when needed. Yes, we have been able to count on a few (and I mean a few players off the bench), but not nearly as much as we should. I have been following the Lakers for quite some time now also, and I've noticed somewhat of the same trend with your team also. It appears that Lakers fans don't seem to happy with the bench play either. Z and Ben Wallace are getting old, and although I like Varejo's energy and hustle (every team needs that), even he will have a difficult tiime handling your big guys. So I ask you Lakers fans this, are any of you looking forward to a match up with the Cavs, if so why? If not, why? Please be respectful as I'm just a curiuos fan of the game....

A very sensible non-Laker fan on this site. We need more of you around.

As much as I'd love to see Kobe and Lebron and LA and Cleveland to battle it out, I just can't stop wanting to face Boston, and you pretty much know why that is. It's the whole rivalry thing and especially since they beat us last season, revenge is so much sweeter. If we face either Boston or Cleveland, it'll be a great series.

The things you said about both benches are very true, but during the past few games, our bench has been producing and playing better than they have been.

Lakers v Cavs would be cool.

But I kind of want revenge on Boston for what they did to us last year.

But I wouldn't mind a Kobe v LeBron series at all. That would be epic

btw welcome to the site :)

the cavs....hmm..i'm not really interested in the whole kobe vs lebron saga, it's kinda annoying. if they hated each other than i would wanna face the cavs, but they're friends. anyway i want revenge, so i want the celtics.

I don't blame you for wanting revenge on Boston...Believe me, nothing would make me happier than to get rid of them and meet you guys in the finals....We shouldn't have taken them to 7 games last year, but this year is a different story...I like our chances against them this year....

As much as I'd like to see Boston, I honestly think you guys are going to demolish the C's this year.

well, revenge aside (because on some level every true laker fan wants to see boston this year), i wouldn't mind seeing the cavs. and this may seem cocky, but they're really the only team i worry about, mostly because of home court. this will bring the best home team vs. the best road team. though some argue homecourt isn't as big an advantage in the finals as in another series though. with 3 straight games in LA against a cleveland team that isn't nearly as good on the road, we may go back to cleveland only needing 1 win in 2 games if cleveland wins the first two. you could argue we do have a mental edge over most teams in that we didn't have much trouble winning in cleveland, though we were both short handed. if bynum is healthy, i like our chances.

don't forget that in the playoffs, aside from homecourt, the regular season means nothing. everyone starts 0-0. obviously bron bron is no dirk, but don't forget what happened to dallas after they're amazing season a few years back. the other problem i see for cleveland, aside from pissing off boston the other night dancing on the sidelines, is...well, look at their league best 15 losses this year

boston
new orleans
detroit
atlanta
miami
chicago
los angeles
atlanta
orlando
los angeles
indiana
houston
boston
washington
orlando

all but washington, which should be a big game for cleveland because of rivalry, and indiana, who plays good teams well, are playoff teams. not only that, but all but 4 of their losses are to eastern teams, and 2 of the 4 western losses are to the lakers. they don't seem to be a big game team, and none of them have proven anything in the playoffs really. when they went to the finals, they coasted through the first few rounds mostly, and san antonio destroyed them. as badly as boston outplayed us, we got 2. either way, this cleveland team seems different, and lebron is different this year...i'm sure it would be a good series

I'd rather face the Celtics, because of the whole revenge thing.

I'm not afraid of either the Cavs or the Celtics, I believe the one thing that would stop us from beating the Cavs though would be the refs...

I want revenge vs the Celtics. We have HCA against them and that's one of the reasons I want them more. But I can't see the Celtics beating the Cavs in a 7 game series... Especially without Garnett...

Revenge against Boston would be sick, and I was thinking along those lines too........

But Kobe vs Lebron.... in the Finals........................ oh my [expletive]ing god.

That would help the who's better debate for at least a year

The game against boston on February 5th was one of the best games I've seen
It felt like a playoff game, Kobe took terrible shots yet the way he and pau were clutch down the stretch was remarkable. + lamar stepped up and carried it on toward the Cavs game.

I feel that playing either the cavs or boston would be an excellent series, however the best possible way for us to get that championship is most likely going through Ohio.

I will most likely go into a short time of depression if we somehow manage to lose the finals for the 3rd straight time

3 Peat of championships

3 Peat of champinoship losses :nervous2:
