Mavericks record 47-31
Jazz record 47-31

Mavericks remaining games:

vs Hornets (win)
at Hornets (loss)
vs Timberwolves (win)
vs Rockets (win)
Projected record: 50-32

Jazz remaining games:

at Spurs (probably a loss. The Jazz are not a good road team)
vs Warriors (win)
vs Clippers (win)
at Lakers (loss)
Projected record: 49-33

Their season series are tied at 2-2.

These are all my predictions.

What do you think ? Lakers vs Jazz in the 1st round ? Can they give us problems ? And Dallas are playing pretty well at home recently. Who do you prefer ? Dallas or Utah ?

What about the Hornets ? They are 48-30 now.

Remaining games

at Mavericks (loss)
vs Mavericks (probably a win)
at Houston (loss)
at Spurs (probably a loss)

Projected record : 49-33, 50-32

So basically if Dallas loses to the Hornets 2 times we'll play the Mavericks and the other way around...

I don't want to play Utah in the first round.

It could go either way. I have a feeling it might be the Jazz though. I actually prefer the Mavs.

Would definitely prefer the Mavs, so we can shut them up.

I'd rather take the Mavs. They are less of a defensive menace than the Jazz and play lousier at home. The Mavs are a much better match up for us because we are longer than they are and their best asset(scoring) we do much better. The Mavs wont out score the Lakers in a scoring game as has been proven this season. Golden State can also attest to that.
"If you could stop all the players that get publicized and all the players that the NBA likes and all the players, you know, the players that win the MVP's, you know, for their offense. And some of them, you know, play pretty good defense too. But some of them, you know, they like "this guy he can shoot, he can score, he can dunk." and I want to be the one to stop all those guys, you know, and just kinda spoil the whole party." - Ron Artest

Too easy...

Utah can't win on the road, and the Hornets are one of those one hit wonder teams (ie. the Warriors)...

From February 11, 2009

West:

1) Los Angeles Lakers Prediction: 64-18
2) San Antonio Spurs Prediction: 56-26
3) Denver Nuggets Prediction: 54-28
4) New Orleans Hornets Prediction:51-31
5) Portland Trail Blazers Prediction: 51-31 (Hornets will win in the tie-breaking methods)
6) Houston Rockets Prediction: 49-33
7) Dallas Mavericks Prediction: 48-34
8) Utah Jazz Prediction: 46-36

I stand by that predictions...not so much the seeding anymore. But I feel that Jazz will have the last seed, then the mavericks then the Hornets. Hornets can finish higher than Portland with the same record and the Blazers play

Los Angeles Lakers
@ La Clippers (not a gimme game)
Oklahoma City
Denver Nuggets

I see Blazers possibly losing two, maybe 3.

Facing the Utah Jazz first has many positives as well as negatives

the negatives are they are by far the 3rd most talented team in the league and are underachieving due to injuries early in the year.

they are legitimately 10 deep if not deeper and to be honest that means we are facing if healthy the 3rd best team in the league IMO and the best passer in the league in DMW

now the positives are last season the road was easy and we developed no resolve no toughness. while the celtics faced atlanta and cleveland followed by detroit which made them tougher and had them have to fight and develop resolve

maybe a tough playoff road is what we need and utah is easily the toughest lower seed probably in the last 5 years since if healthy all year or at least most of it they would easily have 55+ wins possibly 60

maybe we need a tough grind it out series so that we develop some toughness

Right now I actually want the Jazz, since my girlfriend got me game 5 tickets for round one, I know the Lakers have a chance to lose one in Utah, that way I can see the Lakers clinch the series at home lol.

I don't give a ish! Lets get it on already. I have a feeling we're gonna see a different, better team once the playoffs start.

I don't want to play Utah in the first round.

I do. Bynum will destroy Okur, and Milsap/Boozer is too short to effectively guard Gasol. It'd be a nice whipping.
Gooden>> Lamar Odom. Mo Williams>> Ray Allen>> Gasol. Nene= Gasol.

i wouldn't be too sure because they are by far the 3rd most talented team in the NBA and they are tough and play defense and are hall of fame well coached

they would be the hardest possible matchup for us

dallas, NO are walks in the park compared to utah

Yeah well we are the first most talented team, we are tough, we sometimes play defense, we are hall of fame coached, we have Kobe, we are healthier then last year, and oh yeah WE ARE ABLE TO WIN ON THE ROAD.

never said we would lose but this would be by far the toughest 1st round match-up we could possibly have

Yeah I know. Just sayin... lol.

But Utah would definitely be tough, but Lakers could also get them in the first round and knock them out before they get any type of momentum in the playoffs for later rounds.
