Well, I wouldn't say that. Right now, aside from the Lakers, the Western conference is all jumbled up and little will be set in stone until the last day of the season.

Yup as of right now they would have to play San Antonio as they beat San Antonio in San Antonio for the first time in ages.

the NBA needs to get rid of the 2-3-2 format when only one team has won in its entire existence its time to make the series more compelling

i never quite understood why it is that way. you would think all you would need is one win on the road but it just doesn't happen.

we better hope cleveland doesn't get there because having those 1st 2 games at staples would be everything

Post-Game Thoughts:

Great game by the Blazers. No need to blame the refs, though I was disappointed in the officiating. Simply put, they made down the stretch and we didn't. Kobe brought attention to the free throw disparity (37 to 20), but the game was still very winable.

Whether or not Kobe was fouled on that 3 point fling when the score was 101-98, he honestly could not have expected the refs to make that call considering how the rest of the game had been officiated for the Lakers. The next play where he had a turnover was equally frustrating. He got caught in the air with nowhere to go and made a bad pass.

LO seems to have a big impact coming off the bench. Shannon Brown was great once again, and if Farmar doesn't pick it up. He could be looking at coming off the bench after Brown.

I'm still confident that we can beat this team in the playoffs. They caught us on the back end of a back to back, and for one night, they were the better team.

Wow! That was a big bummer, but obviously in the first half Trail Blazers played better than Lakers.....More dunks and more 3-pointers!

I'll take the battle tested Spurs. I don't care that they are getting older. They can beat the Blazers. Experience trumps young energy any time in the playoffs. Look at last years Hornets vs Spurs matchup.

probably not the best officiated game i have ever seen. i pray we face houston but can we even count on them moving to the second round?? i could see la possibly sweeping houston but portland could take us to 6, maybe 7, games. that's 2-3 games that we don't have to play and get some much needed rest for the west. conf.
