A couple poor decisions by Kobe their at the end. He seemed to be trying to match Roy shot for shot and sadly his jump shot is not so great in this second half of the season.

The Lakers played well enough to get a win, but they still lack that extra edge that will have them holding the trophy at seasons end.

Home court is going to Boston, but the Lakers don't need it as the Cavs do. Any thoughts on Kobe resting the rest of the season? We're number one in the West, not getting past Cleavland at this point, and not getting any lower than 2nd in the overall standings. I think you can throw someone like Morrison in there and let him have at it.

What are you talking about? Cleveland will get home court. Also with the Lakers win yesterday, they have home court over anyone besides the Cavs at this point.

Yeah let Kobe rest now. Let him think about those decisions he made tonight. ;)

I just don't understand the Lakers. We LOST in the finals lost year due to the other team playing defense. Yet we can't stop them for our life's in the 4th quarter.

We fight all year for Homecourt advantage and we don't even get that.

Hopefully something changes by June.

GO LAKERS

Horrible refs, can't win on Rose Garden FOR YEARS...

Yeah, not exactly shocking...

Denver is a much better team than portland yet our defense did not play the kinda defense that we did last night. This can come back and bite us, again.

Ahem, that's what I meant. Sorry for the mistake.

Anyway, I think at this point getting guys like Pau and Kobe rest would be very helpful going into the playoffs. They'd both have about a week off. Oh, and, Fish.... He needs something. I know the guy has made some huge shots and he's a great guy, but he's lacking on both ends.

God, an 8 on 5 game is so damn unfair. No wonder we can't win in Portland...

Along with Farmar and Sasha.

Sasha actually did well for us tonight. Farmar on the other hand was useless.

The play-by-play for the 3rd and 4th quarters were ridiculous. So many bad calls throughout the entire game...

i don't want to here we can roll through the west because we play this team in round 2 if and thats if we get past utah

and what do you know we can't win in portland so that puts more pressure on us to win out at home if we play portland

tonight was the biggest game of the year it was to show portland they hold nothing over us now they fully believe they hold everything over us on their homecourt and all they need to do is steal one in LA which is possible and they can beat us

this is a legitimate concern

Stop complaining about the refs.

We have a chance to win and screwed it over. Some of the decisions we made down the stretch were our fault. Not the refs.

Well of course, down the stretch we could have executed better, but the only reason the game came down to that point was due to the horrible officiating earlier throughout the game. There was a stretch where every time the Blazers had the ball, if they didn't get a good look, they'd get bailed out with free throws. That was the difference in this game.

We wouldn't be in a position like that if it weren't for the refs controlling the game and putting us in a bad spot.

Honestly, let's not resort to complaining about the refs. Yes there were some very bad calls, but I refuse to whine about the refs, that makes us no better then Celtic fans.

Yeah, I suppose you're right.

Let's smash them if we face them in the playoffs.

no the refs were not the reason here are more important factors

Gasol floated around the 3 point line and mid range and only once or twice went deep post

andrew was good early awful late but expected (playing 30 F'in minutes in his 2nd game back on a back to back <_< )

kobe was awful down the stretch

lamar was equally awful down the stretch

fish was awful all game

sasha was a foul machine

ariza was a non ffactor on both sides of the floor

luke was a foul machine

the only positive was shannon brown to be honest

the reffing is not to blame were there bad calls yes but great teams win despite bad calls and don't put themselves in a position to be at the mercy of bad calls

this was an important game and we are now 4-1 in playoff type games which isn't bad but not great either
