After enjoying some individual success during his first appearance in the Olympic Games, Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is now focused on winning the NBA championship.

"I achieved my first goal -- playing basketball for Germany in the Olympics," Nowitzki told journalists after his country finished the Games with a 1-4 record following a loss to the United States on Monday.

"Now my main goal is to win the NBA championship," Nowitzki added. "We'll have to wait and see how things develop with Germany in the years ahead."

I don't think Dirk can win a championship as the first option on a team, not to mention that he's also getting on in age...

You had your chance in 06' and regardless of the officiating, you blew it. Dood will never win a title if he's the best player on his team.

1-4 is not a very good record for an Olympic team...
He is not going to win the title, he needs someone like Kobe or Lebron by his side, and I don't see that happening...

He must have been smoking that good stuff with Lamar Odom, Josh Howard and Mark Cuban...

Oh NOW he's focused on an NBA title?!

That's gotta make Dallas fans, teammates and management happy.

Dallas aren't a geared towards an NBA Title. The Kidd trade killed them.

Memo to Mr. Nowitzki...

You wish... You had your chance in 2006 and blew it. BTW, why didn't you take the crucial shot in Game 3 and instead dumped it off to Dampier who wasn't looking on the pick and roll?
