slumps happen more freqquently the older you get.

simply because the legs get tired quicker and injuries take longer to heal

kobe will be fine he knows what this year means and knows wwhat he has to do

One of his worst seasons % wise...i meant forgetful on a personal level not team wise

As of right now, he's only had one season where he shot a better FG%, 4 seasons where he shot better from 3-point range, and one season where he shot better from the free throw line.

So I wouldn't really say it's forgetful.

Wasn't he shooting 47% for the season? It's only like 45%-46% now right?

maybe he hasn't had some pie in a while  ;)

Hope he doesn't find a random white chick again...........

It can be oldness, or injuries (finger and ankles) or he's passing the ball more now, a lot more now.

No oldness, I think just wear and tear, and playing through EVERYTHING. Fingers, ankles, knees, playing every game for 2 whole years, etc. He sure as hell ain't passing the ball a lot more (during this bad stretch), we could have used some passing today.

What are you talking about? Do you have any idea? This season was his best of his entire career by far %-wise until this slump, and it's still his 3rd best shooting season.

It's probably a little lower after today's game. The stats don't update until the next day.

I'd post this in the Bryant thread, but it's really pertaining to a series of games.

@ Bobcats - 11/28 FG, 25 points
@ Hawks - 7/19 FG, 17 points
@ Nets - 5/19 FG, 14 points
@ Pistons - 10/18 FG, 30 points
@ Thunder - 6/18 FG, 19 points
@ Bulls - 10/25 FG, 28 points
vs. Warriors - 9/25 FG, 21 points
vs. Sixers - 5/15 FG, 11 points

Last eight games - 63/167 FG (37.7%), 20.6 PPG

This isn't Kobe.

Is there ever really a time you can remember where he played like this for that many consecutive games, seriously?

I'm a bit worried about that dislocation. The pinkie was okay, since you don't use it to shoot. But the one he suffered against the Cavs, that's a different story. It was the ring finger, I believe, and that's the outside finger you use to balance the ball.

He really has a problem, and he is pushing it, if he doesn't rest we are going to have a very bad surprise when playoffs start.

Well, he had 1 broken finger, 2 sprained ankles and a hyper-extended knee this season... Oh, and 1 broken pinky from LAST season...

He is pretty much banged up...

Perhaps it's a combination of being tired, injuries, and age.

He's injured and tired. He needs some rest. And he'll bounce back ! He's Kobe after all :)

Kobe's performance has been very below average the last few games but being worried is just a result of us never seeing him play like this. Every great athlete will go through a slump. But like someone else said, its better its happening now then in the playoffs. We know how playoff Kobe will perform.

Last night against the Bobcats, he had so many balls rattle in and out of the rim. I do think it would be wise for Kobe to just be a facilitator at this point and limit his minutes. We'll see what Phil does.

Kobe's fine its just his shot selection in the past 8 games have been extremely poor, he needs to be smarter with the shots he takes.
