Kobe has had two knee surgeries over the years and is still athletic but not like he was before. Kobe used to dunk like crazy and could get really high. If we combine that with his knowledge of the game today how good would kobe be
Do you think his numbers would increase or decrease

Well it's tough.

I look at 2003 as his athletic prime. He was unreal that year.

He's 30, and his body will start to slow down. But I want to see him in the post more; ala MJ.

I agree 2002-2003 season he was a beast crazy dunks. He does need to go more in the post 15ft and in. Sadly thats the difference between Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Jordan had a higher basketball IQ

What is with you starting all these threads taking backhanded shots at Kobe? Without Kobe, LA is a 40-45 win team so I will take him as he is over all the others in the NBA>

And people are so quick to criticize him yet he is above and beyond every player in the NBA at basketball IQ in my opinion. It's not like it's really a knock.

I hope they (media) will be quiet in june and people will silence the Kobe lebron comparisons. lebron is great however a large majority of his game is athletism where as with kobe its a combination of both

No one is taking shots at kobe. I am just saying how much better would kobe be if he still had the same athletic ability combined with his higher basketball IQ

That's life. Younger players are more athletic. MJ was the same way. Athletic freak when he was young and then developed and mastered every offensive move thinkable when he got older.

Kobe was skinny back then.. He looks way more athletic now than he was in 00-04.

Tendinitis, guys. Same thing happened to Mike, Vince Carter, T-Mac, Dominque, all great athletic guys get jumper's knee..he can get up like that a few times but it would slow his career down..T-Mac tried to keep doing it but what happened to him..Vince, Kobe, MJ, even Domonique, all became jumpshooters. It would be nice to see the young Kobe once in a while and dunk on someone, but he needs to become deadly with the smart veteran's game

Assuming everyone is healthy I think the lakers are still a 50+ win team. With Kobe they are 60+

When did Kobe's wife become part of the thread? Then again, who wouldn't??

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.
