He didn’t exactly eat any humble pie, but Celtics’ Paul Pierce did chew thoughtfully on his recent comments regarding Kobe Bryant in a radio interview last Friday.
Pierce told listeners of ESPN radio that his assertion of being the “best player in the world” was more of a reflection of his confidence than a slight toward the Lakers star.
“I love Kobe. I watch Kobe all the time when I’m not playing against him,” Pierce said, adding, “Right now I already have Kobe as one of the top 25 players to ever play the game at this point and he still has many years to go, so I have the utmost respect for him. It wasn’t a diss or a smack down.”
Pierce also said he Bryant never have exchanged trash talk on the court.
Pierce also recently made news with his handcuffed stop by police in Las Vegas. He said he was pulled over for failing to use his directional signal being handcuffed and eventually passing sobriety tests. He joked that he was targeted by a Los Angeles Lakers fan for a “DWC: Driving With Championship.”

Didn't Pierce live in Inglewood? That's the wrong area to come back home for the break since the LA fans are going to go ballistic on him when they see him. Though he probably knows everyone in that area. If I saw Pierce randomly then I would maybe ask for his autograph then rip it in front of his face.
