Well the youngest is the Charlotte Bobcats for sure. Not sure about the oldest.

I wonder if they're now listing the Thunder as the newest franchise since they switched cities & names.

Nah, the Thunder are still part of the SuperSonics history since they're technically the same franchise.

I told a self proclaimed "Basketball guru" and he didn't believe me.

The Thunder is still the same franchise. They still share all the old records, retired jerseys, championships, division titles, etc. A brand new franchise would be one where they have nothing in the beginning and it's a clean slate.

did you all not see the second post in the thread?

http://www.basketbal...ence.com/teams/

The oldest teams are the Celtics, Knicks, and Warriors. All founded in 1947.

Youngest is obviously the Bobcats.

The Thunder is, essentially, the Sonics franchise. All history followed the team to OKC. The name 'Supersonics' and the team colors remain the rights of the city of Seattle, as per the parting agreements.
