Tonight was great. Everyone played pretty well, if Farmar can cut down on throwing silly passes and trying to make things look cool, then our bench will be fine.

Ya, when he's on, the Bench Mob is on.

Hopefully this win ends all the "dis" in the gruntledness of our team. Haha. Sasha, on Twitter, was saying that they had a team dinner and had a fun talk last night(he pretty much posted the same thing like 5 times, haha), maybe things are fine now.

Is it safe to say that the "Bench Mob" is back???

From http://www.latimes.c...0,7521738.story

There was a minor twist, with Lakers Coach Phil Jackson sending out Lamar Odom with the reserves instead of Gasol to start the fourth quarter.

It was worth the shot, seeing how the reserves were so bad in a short-lived second-quarter stint that Jackson "really jerked them out quick," to use his words.

The Bulls didn't seem to mind, taking a 49-33 lead near the midpoint of the quarter.

Odom, however, worked almost flawlessly with Farmar, Luke Walton, Sasha Vujacic and Josh Powell in the fourth quarter.

they have never left, the Bench mob isnt going to play well every game, but if you judge them on an overall basis, they have been doing their thing, they help about 35%, the starters do about 65% of the work
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

They weren't too impressive tonight, only kept the lead because of OKC turnovers and missed wide open shots. We missed assignments and switches. Everyone's shot was off except Farmar's for some reason, but that shouldn't happen often. Hope they get tighter defensively.

Bynum Joining the Mob?

It's been eight weeks since Andrew Bynum went down with a partially-torn MCL and everyone in Laker Nation is anxiously awaiting the return of their young center who was playing the best basketball of his career before he went down. Phil Jackson has been pretty mum on Andrew's status, but just recently he told Elliot Teaford of the LA Daily News that when Bynum does come back there's a chance he could come off the bench.

...

For most of the season the Lakers' bench, referred to as the "bench mob", has been a strength of this Laker team and a big reason why they're sitting at the top of the Western Conference. However, lately their reserves have had their struggles and rather than increasing leads like they were early in the season they've been losing them. Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic specifically have really been in a slump. The touch on their jump shot has escaped them and they have had serious difficulty keeping anyone in front of them defensively.

everyone had a bad game today. Lazy plays lead to turnovers. And they also couldn't make a basket if their lives depended on it. Oh well. Move on.

Jordan and Powell dont seem to play well together.
Jordan plays better with Drew in the post.
Powell plays better with the starting unit, like against Houston he had 17/9.
Hopefully Drew will be back and the bench will have a better impact in games.

Jordan has sucked ever since coming back from his injury save for a few games. He just can't seem to understand that he has a better shot of scoring if he drives in instead of chucking up ugly shots all the time. He is not a shooter. Shooting should NOT be his primary option on the offensive end. Watching some video on Tony Parker and picking up a few pointers here and there would help him out tremendously...
