It's just the spirit of competition. It's all in good fun, and it stays on the court.

All three of the MVP candidates had “MVP” performances this week.

But, Kobe’s was the best.

Wade’s was created, in part, by his own mis-firings at the free-throw line at the end of the first OT.

Lebron’s was against the Clippers, and even though he carried his team back, Bill Simmons’ used the game as Exhibit A for the Clippers incompetence under Dunleavy.

But Kobe. He took on one of the scariest men in the NBA, and ended the Rockets 12 game home winning streak.

So he made up for his mistakes and capitalized the rest of the way. I say Wade's performance should not be looked down so easily B)
We all know he did great and did all he can do to get the W. 48pts 12ast 4stls 3blks. Amazing game winning shot.

Lebron who?? I dont like him but I respect him a lot but Kobe pawns

Kobe is still :mvp:

KOBEEEE!!

Doc, how can an intelligent guy like you be so enamored with a dysfunctional, selfish cancer like Ron Artest?

Welcome back.

Agree to disagree. Kobe and Pau and Fisher can all control him. THis guy is looking for a spot he can belong...much like Rodman. He'd be fine here.

Agree to disagree.

You both make valid points, although if I recall Ken, you were always a proponent of the Odom/Artest swap. I think Artest hurt his team last night, although apparently he's been great.

Unlike Doc, I have the ability to change my mind. My thinking was that if Philip could control a guy like Rodman, he could control Artest. Philip is older now and I don't think he wants to spend his energy on this kind of cancer. The Lakers are now made up of solid people and we don't need to ruin that. Also, I've watched Artest play more this year than ever before. He definitely has great moments, but for the most part he's the epitome of selfishness and wouldn't blend with a selfless team like the Lakers. Plus I don't like his looks. I was wrong, Scott, and I admit it. I'm simply not as unflappable as Doc, but that's generally how doctors think.

Yes, but he plays defense, and that's what the Lakers should be about.

Interestingly, he's playing along side another guy who's one of the best defenders in the league (Battier), yet the Lakers still managed to go north of 100 points and beat them in their house. Must have been a f-luke.

Ron has a man crush on Kobe

Actually they have deep respect for each other. But there's no friendship on the court ...

GREAT post, great points. Spot on. Anybody who disagrees with that here? If so, explain why please. Even lakerfool, who's the biggest LeBron fan here.

At the FT line you can hear Kobe clearly saying:
[~38 second mark]
"Are you a stand-up comedian now? You're a stand-up comedian now."

[Almost at end]
I think after the 1st Kobe says: "I love you, man."
That's when you see Artest put his hand over his chest and points to Kobe and says "I love you too, I love you too."

Yeah. Before Kobe said "Are you a stand-up comedian now?"

I'm pretty sure Ronron said "You're not ready for me." Then Kobe laughed and said something like, "What? I'm not ready for you? Are you a stand-up comedian now?" :dance1:
