I think we know that their friends. It was just the heat of the moment type of thing. Its like how Magic had a fight with his best friend Isiah Thomas back in the days.

During a time out, Bryant yelled to the scorer's table.

"He must have lost his mind talking (trash) to me," Bryant said, referring to Artest.

Artest always has a high temper in the game. It's a spur of the moment thing.

Artest over some of the other players on this team without question. I'd like to believe that he will let that weigh heavily on his (Artest's) mind this summer. Hopefully, we something can get worked out on that front. That would really put us over the top.

Doc, do you know what cancer is? We don't need Artest to continue the dynasty that will start after we win the NBA Finals this year. Let someone else suffer with him.

Welcome back.

Agree to disagree. Kobe and Pau and Fisher can all control him. THis guy is looking for a spot he can belong...much like Rodman. He'd be fine here.

Artest has been great for Houston this year. No cancer there. I'd love to see him in P&G.

“It wasn’t much of a battle,” Bryant said. “I kicked his (butt) tonight. We’ve had some battles in the past and he’s gotten the best of me a few times. Tonight, I got the best of him.”

“It was edgy,” Bryant said. “I would expect nothing less. He’s a competitor, I’m a competitor. It’s fun.”

“That’s part of the game,” Artest said. “You’ve got to talk trash to the fans. It’s entertaining.”

“We’re not friends out there at all,” Artest said. “After the game, after the season, this will be something we’ll probably talk about at a pickup game or something. Not personal at all.”

I don't think the Lakers would "suffer" with Artest... if anything we're missing that CRAZY guy who's willing to throw his body out there for the good of the team. I think this team would bring out the best of Artest, and as far as I can tell he hasn't created too much drama down in Houston... if he became available for the Lakers, we TAKE him. No questions asked. This is ARTEST we're talking about.

At the FT line you can hear Kobe clearly saying:
[~38 second mark]
"Are you a stand-up comedian now? You're a stand-up comedian now."

[Almost at end]
I think after the 1st Kobe says: "I love you, man."
That's when you see Artest put his hand over his chest and points to Kobe and says "I love you too, I love you too."
