Monta Ellis rejoined the Warriors on Monday, and admitted that his absence from the team had nothing to do with his surgically-repaired left ankle.

Ellis says that the only reason he left Golden State was to be with his ailing mother.

"There's nothing wrong with my ankle," Ellis said. "I went to see my mom. My mom was sick. I went home to see her. That's why I took the time off. It had nothing to do with my ankle."

I hope Monta's mom is ok.

For some reason, I smell BS... I'll not be surprised if he pulled a Kwame Brown this time...

I doubt he'd lie about his mother like that.
