Tim Duncan should have won it for the last 2 years, yet overrated defenders like Camby and KG got 1 over him? BS.

LMAO at KG being overrated. Camby is overrated.

KG is a beast on defense. He's definitely a legit candidate this year.

KG is an excellent help defender, average man-to-man D at best, and cannot anchor the paint or play center, unlike Tim Duncan...

Howard or Josh Smith....whos been robbed twice
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Garnett eff% allowed, 45.6%

Duncan 49%

Stats don't tell the whole story, but you can't ignore how great a defender KG is. He's the best, and he should win it again this year.

i tastefully disagree, KG isnt the best defensive Big man in the league, his team just helps him effectively

Fair enough. Duncan isn't a bad choice at all.

Wade is a good defender, but a guard should NEVER EVER win it over a big man. NEVER.

Well unless that guard is an insane defender like Michael Jordan, Gary Payton, or Sidney Moncrief, it's almost impossible to win a DPoY over a C/PF...

And yes, it's their team defense that is making KG look like a DPoY... Even a stiff like Perkins (the only thing he ever does during lottery years is fouling and picking up techs) learned to play some defense... KG is a solid defender, but there's a reason he cannot play C... He is too thin, he would just get abused in the paint...

Camby isn't overrated. He actually is a hell of a defensive player.

His rebounding is even better.

It's Dwight Howard's award to lose. Wade's not winning it.

That's why he's a power forward. That doesn't change the fact that he causes havoc in passing lanes, is a good shot blocking presence, and he causes trouble for whoever he is guarding. This isn't, defensive center of the year award. It is DPOY. Nobody is playing better than when KG plays his position, and nobody makes a bigger impact on team defense than him either.
