-Alot of old people say Oscar Robertson is the best player ever.
Posted Image
-My Dad says Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the Best player ever.
Posted Image
-My older cousins and alot of my friends say Michael Jordan is the Best player ever.
Posted Image
-My Generation majority says Kobe Bryant is the Best player ever.(I just turned 27)
Posted Image

-Now for my 9 year old Son, he thinks Lebron James is the BEST Player ever!!!

Every Generation has there numero uno ball player.
An every generation thinks there player is the Best ever.

My Son thinks Lebron is the best ever even when I showed him the Kobe Bryant 81 points footage, or the Ultimate Michael Jordan DvD.
It doesn't Matter LeBron beats them all as what he says.

It's NO Secret that for the new generation it's all about Lebron and nobody else.
D-Wade you could argue being 1B.
Posted Image
Outside of that it's all Lebron's Show
Posted Image

When the sad day comes when Kobe hangs up the Nike ZK8's for good ,Lebron will have it all to himself.
As many think he has it all to himself NOW.

I think he is a Great Leader of the NEW AGE.

I just gotta Thank the Graces of God that I get to take my son tomorrow to see his basketball Hero Lebron James smash up the Clippers at Staples Center.
Really close seats too. Not Jack Nicholson close but 7 rows behind him close.

Thank You to Lebron James for staying healthy so we could be Witnesses tomorrow !!!!

I'll be 25 this year, and I watched plenty of Jordan, and I absolutely do not like the guy, but I respect him and his game, and I think he's the greatest of all time (for right now).

80's- Magic/Bird/Thomas/Erving
90's- Jordan/Malone/Barkley/Olajuwon/Ewing
00's- Bryant/Wade/Iverson/S. O'Neal/Duncan

No offense illwill... but if I had a 9 year old kid who didn't worship Kobe and the Lakers, I would keep him outside my house and stop feeding him until he changed camps...

Only reason why I'd take him to see LeBron vs. Clippers would be to go boo his asssss!!!!!

From what i've seen, alot of guys who are fans of older players don't want to give the new cats there due. It's almost like they don't want to give them a chance. We all saw how Kobe was rideculed for being labled the next Jordan, a title he never claimed, but never shyed away from. And look at whats happened. He's become the closest thing to MJ. How many players can say they want to be like Jordan and dang near accomplish it?? Now, Kobe is my favorite player but to me, Magic is the GOAT. This topic helps make basketball fun/fustrating.

Oscar averaged a triple double[almost] with 25+ pts to boot. Lebron can't do that. Kareem, leading scorer. MJ, just insane. Kobe, can score over the great wall. You cant go wrong

can we change topics a bit? Does anyone hate how this generation thinks that the oolder players couldnt play wth the new players b/c of athleticism and such.
I have heard how no one could compete with Shaq or lebron's strength, how Jerry west and even Larry Bird would not make it in this league. I have even heard that Wilt would be one of the worst centers in the league and he ran marathons...100 mile marathons.
people like Pierce and nash show that slower, not aqs atheletic players can succeed, what do you guys think?
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

The premise of the OP used to be held pretty dear; however, thanks to ESPN, along with internet message boards, youtube, and all the other ways you can hate on modern day players, Michael Jordan has perched himself pretty nicely as the greatest player of all-time.

Jordan's career exploded at the perfect time. And ever since, people focus so much hatred on the new up and comers, from Kobe to Wade to Lebron, etc.

People have forgotten how great Jabbar was, while they focus almost solely on the positives of Jordan's careers, while also focusing a lot of negative attention on Kobe, and to a lesser extent Lebron.

Yes, ESPN hypes up Lebron, but the message board generation does its fair share of lambasting him. Groups of people that seethe at the mention of Kobe being better than Jordan will still go all out in placing Kobe above Lebron.

It's almost comical.

Still, my vote is Jabbar.

Bee my dude, you are not the first person who told me that believe it or not. LMAO

My son is a big time Laker and Mamba fan.
Trust, I am not the only one who is really P'D off when the Lakers lose.

He just likes Lebron alot too. Not the Cavs but Lebron.
I don't blame him he is the favorite for the new generation with his commercials and fresh new style of b-ballin
It's just how the times go generation after generation.
