The West is geting tough, the Utah Jazz on a 10 game winning streak and they geting healthy and deron is playing like before. The Hornets are playing like before all they need is peja back and they be like last year. The Spurs will get healthy and now they have gooden (Im not saying he will make a difffrence) , and 1 - 8 is not a piece of cake. The Mavs and Suns * one will get 8th spot and it would be tough beating both. By the way Houstan is playing better now with Alston. Portland is geting better from last year. So this year lakers wont have a easy way into finals. Whats your thoughts :eh:

The West is fighting for their lives. The Lake Show is 8 1/2 games ahead of the #2 team, and 10 1/2 over the #'s 2 & 3 spot

Amare is not coming back for the Suns, see you in the lotto.

Dallas can not play the type of defense needed to beat us in a 7 game series, and Utah doesn't have the firepower. Neither does Houston, Portland is inexperienced, and the Hornets don't have enough amo either.

It will come down to the Spurs and Lakers, but I don't fear the West at all.

Name the teams in the West that have beat down the Lakers?

Sacramento beat us by 12. That was a fluke game.

New Orleans beat us by 11. We were up 3 to start the fourth quarter and went ice cold from the field.

San Antonio beat us by 1.

Utah beat us by 4.

Denver beat by 11. Lakers didn't play well, Nuggets did.

Phoenix beat us by 7. On their home home floor, the Lakers were within 2, and couldn't get over the hump.

My point is that I dont see this Lakers team playing four bad games and getting ousted in the playoffs. The Spurs will be a challenge, they always are. But they haven't shown that they can handle us, like we've handled them this year.

Let me put it this way:

You keep alluding to teams playing like "before." If that's the case, then I have no reason to worry whatsoever. We ROLLED through the West last year. If teams are merely getting back to their old ways, I would consider it a good thing. -_-

I think he meant that they are getting healthier (Jazz, Hornets mostly).

If anything it'll be easier for us to get to the Finals this year.

Other teams are getting healthier but so will we at some point (Bynum).

Unless something mouth dropping happens we'll make it to the Finals.

While I don't underestimate the West, they certainly don't scare me as much as they did last year.

That being said, we need to focus to win every series. Nothing may come easy - even a potential sweep.

I think we need to focus on getting Game 1 when the playoffs start and let the rest fall into place.....get Momentum on our side and the series early..

I think the West is better from last year
Suns-They geting back to old run n gun(Not saying they got better)
Mavricks-Another year with Kidd(Still not saying they got better)
Portland-Will be hard to beat them at their home(I Think they gotten better)
Houstan- They are better without T-Mac and they have Artest (They can be hard too)
Jazz- Geting Healthy and hard to beat at home
Hornets- Geting Healthy and they are geting back to last year
Nuggets- Better than last year and they have Billups instead of A.I
Spurs- If they are healthy they would be hard to beat plus they have Roger Mason(Who is Clutch..... that [expletive])
And Lakers- They gotten way better from last year and they will get bynum back

I think he meant that they are getting healthier (Jazz, Hornets mostly).

plus the rockets(without mcgrady) seem to be a little better. Alston and T-mac could have been chemistry killers on the court(or off). Also the Suns seem more dangerous with this new(old) style of play, if they can sneak in. That being said, I can see the Lakers dominating the playoffs in he West, but NOTHING IS EVER EASY IN THE PLAYOFFS(except Game 3 against Denver Last year)
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

so surely you guys dont expect the slide to continue into the playoffs, Lamar ha good weeks and bad weeks. Hopefully he is playing well in JUNE

It's gonna be tougher road this year, don't expect a 4-6-5 like last year.

I'll expect some good 6 games series for the most part.
