Forward Stromile Swift signed a free-agent contract with Phoenix on Wednesday for the remainder of the season, giving the Suns another big man to replace the injured Amar'e Stoudemire.

Swift truly does do squat for them.

Just because other teams signed guys doesn't mean the Lakers have to. The roster is fine as is. Once Bynum is back its even stronger. There's only so many minutes a game here. Players know that signing here as a second tier player could lead to a lot of bench time.

These players getting bought out are looking to make an impression on someone to secure their future in the league. Spotty minutes on a squad that's already set in its rotation (with and without Bynum) isn't something these guys are looking for.

And honestly, no getting any of these guys that were available is no big shakes.
