They are right up there with the highest salaries and are paying the luxury tax. Buss has always been willing to pay for proven players. There are other reasons why we haven't gotten another player I believe.

Do some research before you ask a question like that. And what's up with people who think, just b/c we want a player, that player wants to be a Laker???? You know, it's up to the player where he goes. You can't just say, we need this guy ____, and he comes b/c you want him to.

I think it was a sensible question to ask considering we didn't make a move. I think they wanted to but the players were wanting to go elsewhere.

No way. Any team that flirts with the luxury tax is not cheap at all. A cheap team would be Memphis.

The Lakers are quite generous giving huge salaries...

McKie, Divac, Devean George, Kwame, Space Cadet, etc...

They gave Magic a 25 mil, 25-year contract (which was the biggest contract in sports history that time)... I know Magic is one of the GOAT but 25 years???

Anyone who could give that kind of contract is definitely not a cheapskate...

Didn't they, in his last season, give him like 14 mil?

We don't need another player. We traded away all these players to clear cap in the first place. Why would you replace that spot with a player in which you created cap to sign Ariza and Odom this coming off season?

49-12 isn't a fluke.

Morrison and Brown don't get much playing time anyway, bringing in another player will be spending money to warm the bench.

Hmm... He got paid in 1981, so his contract was ended in 2006 or so...
