I've been looking through a lot of YouTube videos lately and have actually managed to discover a few Kobe videos I hadn't seen before. I have probably seen 95% of Kobe's dunks throughout his career, but I've found a few really rare ones that merit some discussion.

First up is Kobe dunking on Patrick Ewing:

Such a sick dunk, but the lack of a replay angle kills the excitement. I never knew Kobe had posterized Ewing, but this goes to show you that Kobe has likely dunked on almost all of the dominant big men who ever played at the same time as he except for Shaq. Had Kobe & Shaq not been teammates, though, I think a young Kobe would have definitely attempted to dunk on him.

Number two is this facial on Timmy D. that, sadly, came after a foul on Bruce Bowen:

Now, I don't even remember what game this was or why I missed it. OT? Down by one? Man... Why can't I recall this game?! Anyway, it was a beautiful dunk by Kobe on a poor, unsuspecting Tim Duncan. No, it wasn't a true FACIAL, but it was still a great display of elevation and control by Mr. Bryant.

Coming in at number three we have Kobe blowing by T-Mac and dunking on "the entire state of Florida" [-Bill Walton]:

I remember that in the prevous possession to that game, T-Mac had crossed Kobe up and made him stumble. He made the J and the entire arena was going nuts over the fact that T-Mac had shown Kobe up. Not to be shown up, Kobe comes down the court and throws it down emphatically over the Magic team and picks up the tech for smacking the backboard in aggression. This is one of my favorite all time Kobe dunks/moments.

Nice finds, I remember all those dunks too... too bad they don't get replayed!

one that REALLY gets ignored is his up and under reverse dunk he pulled vs. Jazz at home... he was rockin the silver Adidas Kobes... it was such a SICK dunk... he looked GOOD too... his momentum was carrying him AWAY from the basket but he stretches as far back as he can and rocks it.

Unfortunately this clip doesn't include over the basket angle...

@Chemical Ode, never knew Kobe went to the Philipines in 1998, that's really cool.

I actually remember seeing a lot of these dunks LIVE, as a kid, like the one above.

Yeh I'm guessing it was for Adidas to promote his shoes. I know I've seen some more rare dunks but I can't think of any at the moment.

the kobe dunk vs spurs - you don't remember that because it was a forgettable heartbraker. I think we were down like half dozen in the closing minutes and Kobe made jumper after jumper on Bowen's face to force overtime. And I think on the last play of regulation kobe hit Manu with that elbow lol. Then Finely hit a buzzer beating 3 to win the game in OT

That one against the Nets was nasty. No homo, but I miss the leg sleeve and the armband on the bicep. So sick.

I figured it was a pretty rare dunk - half the ones posted in here aren't "rare" to me, so yeah.

His dunk on Ben Wallace is usually put as #1 for most top 10 Kobe dunks. The ones in this thread are mostly rare in the sense that since they didn't count the basket, they didn't show it often as a highlight.

I'm glad Kobe doesn't dunk as much anymore, it takes away from the "wow" factor. The times when he does dunk though, it brings his team to life, as well as the crowd.
