Kobe's steady pace lands him top spot in rankings

Kobe fans rejoice. Your favorite is now the favorite.

After having LeBron James and Kobe Bryant one-two in Race to the MVP for nearly two months, this week we've flipped the two. Last season, before Bryant won his first MVP award, we didn't move Kobe to the top spot until he faced off against the Hornets' and Chris Paul in late April.

Until then, the authors of Race to the MVP had Paul at No. 1 for most of the season's second half, and rightfully so. The Hornets had exceeded expectations by not only leading the Southwest Division, the NBA's toughest and but also challenging for the top seed in the rugged West.

Awesome. Possible Back to back MVP awards and a championship trophy to go along with it MmmMmmm... sounds nice. :)

Pau-Pau needs to be higher on the list though. Or maybe I'm just being biased.

"If you could stop all the players that get publicized and all the players that the NBA likes and all the players, you know, the players that win the MVP's, you know, for their offense. And some of them, you know, play pretty good defense too. But some of them, you know, they like "this guy he can shoot, he can score, he can dunk." and I want to be the one to stop all those guys, you know, and just kinda spoil the whole party." - Ron Artest

It's probably because he's not the "MVP" of his team like all other guys. But yes, Pau shoud've been atleast 10th...

I see Kobe number 1 now as well since we are on a roll, D-Will and Pau should be higher.

Kobe could solidify his case by helping his team get some separation the next 3 games to get a solid 5 game lead over the Cavs

Lakers next 3

at Denver, at Phoenix and at home vs Minny

Cavs next 3

at San Antonio tonight, at Atlanta and at Miami
