The Celtics are looking to add veteran big man Mikki Moore, who the Kings released last week, and agent Mark Bartelstein says the defending champs have made an offer.

"A lot of teams are very excited about him, so it's a tough decision for Mikki," said Bartelstein.

Moore is expected to make his decision Monday after clearing waivers and becoming an unrestricted free agent.

DENVER — Mikki Moore is expected to be a Celtic by this time tomorrow, according to NBA sources. The 7-footer waived last week by Sacramento will by all accounts clear waivers Tuesday morning, at which time he will be a free agent.

Celtic director of basketball operations Danny Ainge had no comment on the issue, other than to deny he has made a formal offer to Moore. It is known that he has spoken with Moore’s representative, though the same is true for other potential free agents.

But league sources insist Moore will pick the Celtics over a number of other high profile suitors.

Moore was put on waivers after the Thursday deadline, meaning he won’t clear the 48-hour business-day period until tomorrow.

I don't like this :nervous:

Mikki Moore is hardly a concern. He isn't much better than what they already have off their bench.

If they do get him, it won't put them over us. Odom and Gasol will own Moore.

I actually prefer they get Mikki Moore. It's just another roster spot taken by a non-impact player, instead of some of these possible waived players like Joe Smith or Marbury.

Moore is a noob. He was waived by the freaking Sacto Queens, he´s useless.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Exactly, he sucks... I'll take Josh Powell over him...

PJ Brown and Posey were POS who could do the dirty work and clutch, Moore is neither... For a punk like him, he's pretty soft, he gets banged away from the paint easily... Moore means less minutes for Leon Powe (if he would ever play, that is)...

Yeah, I always hated him for some reason... Maybe it's the hair, or being a former Queen, or his punk attitude, I don't know LOL...

i didnt want boston to get him. he is not gonna make the celtics better than us but he can add to their bench which is their big weekness. plus you know he is gonna be one of those guys who plays desperate and fouls and then the refs are gonna be like "look at the guy trying hard after sucking for so long" (last year it was pj brown except they applauded him for being old and trying). i hated him before and i hate him even more now

^Celtics aren't playing tonight...

Celtics were bound to sign someone. We should be happy that it's basically a non-impact player. But Marbury, that's someone to worry about.

3.5 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and has a PER of 8.7 @ 16.2 MPG... I'm shaking on my boots...

Just for comparison, Mihm is 2 PPG 1.9 RPG and has a PER of 10.1 @ 5.8 MPG...

Should the Lakers be looking at Horry? Pau's been playing 25523553445 minutes a game, could relieve him of some minutes.
