Mikki Moore might be a good fit for the Lakers, adding depth and brawn for the stretch run. Robert Horry also might be a nice addition, adding a wealth of experience.
The Lakers have an open roster spot after trading backup center Chris Mihm to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday for a future draft pick.

They aren't linked to either Moore, who was released this week by the Sacramento Kings, or Horry, a former Laker, San Antonio Spur and Houston Rocket.

Lakers coach Phil Jackson declined to say whether the team was interested in either player, but did not rule out the possibility of signing a veteran for the stretch run.

"We keep that for a reason," Jackson said before the Lakers played the New Orleans Hornets

I would like Big Shot Rob back, but he's kinda old now..Mikki is skinnier than string cheese, so I think I'd pass on both, but if I had to choose, Rob.

And post half of the article next time, we don't want the site getting in trouble with copyright and internet laws, stuff like that

Moore blows... Even Kwame is better than him...

Any bigman playing with Jason Kidd gets paid (ie. Moore and K-mart),,,

You obviously have never watched Moore play.

Moore is a versatile defensive player who can hit the outside jumper. I don't know where you get the 'moore blows' thing from, aside from him being part of the Kings.

If Moore was an All-NBA player he wouldn't be waived right now, but Moore can play and would be a nice addition to the Lakers.

Powell was bounced around multiple teams, and look how productive he's been off the bench. That's fallacious logic.

I was replying to the person who said Moore blows. LA would be very fortunate to pick up Moore in my opinion though I fear he is going to Boston.

I think that's a legit reason to pick him up is so that Boston doesn't. I love Boston's lack of depth. Lets keep it that way.

I can see Cleveland or Phoenix picking up Moore.

Really neither puts the Lakers over the top.

Horry is a fantastic PR and morale move, Moore is a defensive (as in keeping him away from others) signing. Neither would stink, but neither is necessary as well.

It isn't a necessary, but Moore would help LA at center. He is better than Mihm or Mbenga. As was said to keep him away from Boston would be reason enough to sign him. Boston can't win the title with that bench they have in my opinion.

I can't see Horry back here no matter how much I would love him to be a laker again.

I think Horry would be more of a defensive liability more than anything. I love him, but I think he woud hurt our defense more than help us.

moore would be a good pickup

maybe we can rest pau a little more and moore gives us some more length to put on tim duncan and aldridge

hes a very smart defensive hustle type player

i think we are waiting on joe smith though to see if we could keep him from boston

I´d sign Horry in a heartbeat.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

HELL NO to horry!!! he is old now and you could easily see it when he was with the spurs. I love what he did for us back in the day and he was one of my favorite players on those championship squads, but he is a team hopper (like posey). he cant add to our team...if you argue that he is a good veteran presence then you forget that we have papa d-fish and the mamba guiding our young ones. He cant keep up with pace of our benches' offense so he would just slow them down. I appreciate horry, but its too late for him.

on the other hand...

i hate moore with a passion. everything about him pisses me off. having said that, i think he could be a good addition. as all of you said we would be keeping him away from boston who really does need to add depth. also, he is a loooong hustle player that fights for whatever he gets and he tends to produce...even on a team like the kings. i think having him and powell as backups would be great...they both have the same kind of effort/intensity but have different tools to play the game with
BOSTON SUCKS!!!
