Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting that the Kings will release Mikki Moore after they were unable to deal him prior to Thursday's trade deadline.

A number of contenders, including the Celtics, are expected to show interest in Moore.

Do the Lakers take a run at this guy?

I think Joe Smith and Mikki Moore should be considered.

The Lakers don't need either.

Really how so?

Bynum's out. Pau Gasol is playing heavy minutes and will need to have his minutes cut down eventually. We want Mbenga as our back up C? Please. Give me Smith or Moore over Dacos.

Rotation of Powell, Pau and at times Lamar with Mbenga as 6 fouls is just fine.

Another mediocre big guy in the ilk of Mihm is unnecessary. Its pointless money to spend on something they don't need. The Lakers would've just held onto Mihm if they wanted that.

moore is significantly better than mihm...i would rate him higher than powell as a Banger and offensively overall. he did lead the nba in fg% a couple of years ago
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

They sure don't.

Where's the magical player that will contribute and find time amongst a 14 man deep roster going t ocome from?

Mikki Moore is doing no good for this team. There's nothing he can do that Powell can't right now.

Sorry - don't need him.

Moore would be pretty good on the Lakers. Versatile big who can get boards and hustle. He's a decent defender. By position, the Kings improve by 3% when he's on the floor as opposed to when he is off.

I really don't see how adding Moore would hurt.

I wouldn't mind signing him. Moore > empty spot.

BTW, I'd rather have Moore on our side than have the Celtics or Spurs (who could use a big) add extra depth.

Moore sucks donkey balls...

Jason Kidd + bigman = hype x 10 + undeserving contract
