I think this makes Thunder a lot better. Chandler was a one dimensional player but damn.

If he isn't catching lobs...

My friend said this - and I agree.

Beautiful.

Not only does this eliminate New Orleans as a possible championship dark horse it also keeps Boston from getting
Joe Smith.

2 birds with one stone.

Good move for Thunder, Tyson along with Nenad and Nick Collison make a solid frontcourt.

awesome the thunder are building an amazing team just think they now have a defensive anchor so they don't need to waste a pick on hasheem thabeet

so now they move towards sir blake griffin or james harden and start to look scary

tyson chandler
blake griffin
jeff green
kevin durant
russell westbrook

awesome

or if they don't get the #1 or #2 pick

they can get a james harden or demarr derozan

the thunder are making excellent strides oklahoma city may have an exicting team in 2 or 3 years one to rival portland

possibly more potential than portland because outside of roy noone on portland has the potential of russell westbrook and not even roy has the potential of durant

i love basketball and i love this move

Why did NOH do this? They gain absolutely nothing, and like many of you said, pull themselves out of contention to make noise in the West. This can't be all they're doing with these pieces. I see another trade or something coming.

They traded Chandler because they need cap space. The salary cap and luxury tax are going down next season.

there were rumors last week that the Hornets were having financial difficulty. Maybe it was just a salary dump for 2 expirings to get themselves under the threshold

On Bspn they said the Hornets get a 1st rd pick from either this year or next can should be a top 5 pick.

joe smith is a very decent solid and fairly consistent player..I would like to see how cp3 can get even more out of him

Wow, I can only imagine CP3 will not be very happy about this. Him & Tyson had great chemistry, especially on the pick & roll obviously and all those sweet connections on the alley oops. Being the firy competitor that he is, man, but again, definitely good for us, haha.

Didn't have faith in the Hornets to do anything before, and I have less now.

This trade gets them tougher rebounder, but they're slowing their game down (and Paul's efficiency to a degree or two) with this deal.

Good for the Thunder though.

If they get Blake Grif.... Ohh my damn..That kid does nothin but attack the basket.. I like what they are doing over there.. Durant Greene and Westbrook are all studs.. To add Tyson and possibly Blake in the draft is just SICK!!!!

Agreed.

Chandler is still only 26 years old. He's a steady double-double w/ 2 blocks a game when healthy. This probably ruins the title hopes for New Orleans, but financially, it was a move they probably needed to make.

The Thunder make out pretty well. Chandler + a top 3 pick to land Griffin, Thabeet or Monroe give them a scary frontcourt with an even scarier backcourt. They've got a very bright future.
