i would get a mac, but i don't got a job. and i dont get a lot of grants. im on loans -.-. barely enough to cover my classes. but for your question:

Okay, I am upgrading my MB to 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD... When I change the hard drive, do I need to buy Leopard again? Is there a way to get all my files transferred over?

Snow Leopard comes out in September. It'll cost only $29 to upgrade, but your Mac has to be Intel-based.

When I got a new HDD on my old laptop, I just used an external HDD to transfer everything, then transferred
it again to my new internal HDD.

I play around with making music and I got a lil buzz from friends telling me to get a mac... Money is tooooo funny... Any insight as to where to get a used mac.. My location is literally 5-10 minutes away from the Staples Center.... Can I get some leads?

Look on Craigslist. Good deals on there...

Macs = worse hardware(it's same stuff but older versions and revisions) with better OS. Overpriced a ton

That is why I just run a hacked kernel on my PC; OS X on PC ftw

Why do people call Windows Based computers a PC? A PC is a personal computer. A Mac is a PC...

Talk to him. Before I got my Macbook I was looking at his and he said if I paid him that day, he would lower the price to 600. You could really get a good deal there. No doubt.

Like I said, he's been trying to sell if forever. When I talked to him, he was going to sell it for 600 right there. I much rather have the BlackBook than the White ones. Or you could also get the Late '08 Aluminum(what I have)... Everywhere cut the prices on them by a few hundred. Still a great deal.
