good postI've used a Mac for at least 9 years, windows for at least 11 years, and Linux for about 4 years, and I'm a proud windows user. Even with vista, I haven't ran into any problems. I could even install Mac OS on my laptop if I wanted to, but I really don't care for it. Windows is just better for those who do a lot on their computer.

Why are Macs so stingy with their prices?
Because when you sell it in two years to get the newest mac out you still get top dollar.
My teacher just sold his two and a half year old Macbook for $2k on eBay and bought the new one for $2600. Not bad at all. A windows based laptop loses value like no other.
Not to mention apple manufactures the hardware and engineers the software [Mac OS X]. Microsoft just charges for the OS, not the hardware, so as long as hardware mfctrs. buy their OS they don't care about hardware price in the least bit.

The posts by "Alex" and "Tim" pretty much sum it all up. I didn't read all the responses, but those two do a good job of putting things into perspective.

Just get a Mac. It's totally worth it. No worries and their fast. And like jeezy said it maintains it's value. I can sell this new MB I just bought for 1300(I also upgraded to 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD) and I could sell it for around 1k in two years or so. The upgrade is cheaper than what Apple offers and it's fine. I LOVE MACS!

for you guys who got windows. which one is better? SP3 or SP2? i know SP3 has more virus protection, but does it REALLY slow down your cpu?
I guess just update. Most of the time it's more good than bad. Only XP is at SP3. Vista is at SP2. I'm still holding up for SP2 though.
