also, feel free to come in and simply post the specs of your computer...i don't know if other people are, but i know i'm always interested to see what other people are running out there...here's the latest computer i've built -
MSI P35 Neo-f FSB 1600mgz
Intel Core2Duo E8400 OCed to 3.6 ghz per core
4 gigs Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800mgz timings - 4 4 4 12
128mb Corsair SSD
1TB Western Digital SATA300 7200rpm 32meg buffer
500gig Western Digital SATA300 7200rpm 16meg buffer
20X Lite-on DVD+/-R Dual Layer/Lightscribe
ATI Radeon HD5770 vapor-x PCI Express
D-link DWL G520M Wireless Card
Sound Blaster x-fi
its still a work in progress, but it runs great and is coming along nicely. i have 2 monitors, and some logitech peripherals (mouse, keyboard, 4.1 THX surround speakers)
to get the thread started, i'll ask a question -
aside form itunes, or anything music related, what is one of your favorite computer programs that you think a lot of people might not know about? and what does it do

i mean, while i'm at home, i have my desktop, though i guess it might be nice to use it in the living room, its not a huge deal...and if i'm not home, i'm in my car, or at the store, or someplace where i won't be sitting down for any long period of time. and if not, then i'm at work, and i have a computer at my desk...
i don't know, i guess its one of those things that if i had it, i'd find time to use it, but we'll see
i'm thinking of getting a macbook of some sort, but i know nothing about macs...any suggestions?

No. As a matter of fact, if System Restore archived the date with the virus or the old archives got affected itself with the virus, you will keep restoring viruses into your computer.Does System restore get rid of a virus completely? I heard it does, but I like cleaning out the virus better.
Best way is to clean it out, remove old archives of system restore, just keep the more recent ones. On top of that, older ones take up disk space.

^^^^ this is my baby, i cant make it through the day without it. i don't use paper notebooks anymore and only carry a folder for handouts..
the aluminum macbook tempted me a lot.. but i dunno, i just didn't have enough to cover the costs and realized i was going to get a new notebook (most likely another tablet) in a couple years, so I took the better specs > durability..
when does apple tend to release their new notebooks, anyone know? beginning of the year?

Just call the Apple store and ask them. I called them once and asked a million questions and they were more than happy to answer them. If you do get the newer Macbook, you'll love it. The no-button touchpad is great, and the aluminum casing as well.i have a warranty for my macbook, and i was just wondering if anybody knows if i can return my macbook (the white one) and in return get the newer generation macbooks that look like mini macbook pros.
if i can do this, i'm expecting to have to pay extra. but is this possible?
