^ I'm assuming most Laker fans who could care less about Kobe winning at least one ring without Shaq are bigger Shaq fans than Kobe fans so to speak. Yeah I know I'll get the argument, no, that means we're bigger Laker fans because we want to see the TEAM win more than anything, but think about it, there's also a lot of Laker Laker fans who wanna' see Kobe get that one ring w/out Shaq at least not necessarily meaning they're all 'Kobe kids' or nuthuggers, but because after all that he's done this for this franchise, all the sacrifices that he's done year after year, bailing us out time & time again, a lot of us think he deserves it and in all honesty, we've obviously got a great shot this year now, especially if and when big Drew comes back.

My greatest hope honestly is that first & foremost, the Lakers win it this year and get that 'Kobe winning w/out Shaq thing' outta' the way asap. Plus there is no way obviously right now we are trading for his $20 million contract. Then after this season, if we can win the title hopefully, then we hope Shaq indeed wants to and does come here for the MLE or something around there and secondly, that Kobe is down with that as well seeing as he'd have already gotten' his one ring at least w/out Shaq just like Shaq did w/out him.

If all goes to plan and the Lakers win it all this year, then next year Shaq comes in for cheap, that would be FANTASTIC. If God forbid the Lakers weren't to win it all this season, then that would really mess up the plan for sure imo.

So you agree with GCMD that Kobe's huge ego prevents us from getting Shaq?

You don't think both Kobe and Shaq have huge egoes? If you don't think Kobe wants to prove he can win a title without Shaq you are delusional. In that sense, yes his ego is preventing LA from getting Shaq right now. I thought you said you weren't talking about right now anyway so what difference does it make? After the 2010 season maybe a lot of things change by then. Why worry about Shaq until then? Dr. Buss has an ego too and I don't know if he would be willing to bring Shaq back either nor do I care.

I want to see a guy who has lead the team to 0 championships so the guy who lead this team to 3 titles can get jealous or feel bad?

Thank you for critiquing Shaq.

Dr. Buss has a brain, and he knows Shaq = $$$$

Yeah that is why he shipped out the first time when he could still play at a high level.

He shipped him out because whining Kobe Bryant wanted a team for his own. So of course, you always keep the younger star. Again, Buss has a brain.

Not a nut hugger, I will leave that for you to do as only you do so well. LA doesn't need Shaq's fat butt and for you Shaq worshippers tell me exactly how LA is suppposed to get him. He is owed 20 million. LA would have to give up Odom and others to get him. Forget Kobe, you really want to give up Odom and others to get Shaq? I guess you are a Shaq nut-hugger.

I never said to do a trade to get Shaq here. I'm all for getting Shaq AFTER this season is over with. There's a chance Phoenix might buy him out next season, so might as well pick him up if we can. If not, he'll be a free agent in 2010. If anything, I'm a Laker nut hugger, as I care more about the Lakers as a team than any personal player achievements. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Kobe win without Shaq, and it's looking closer and closer to that happening this season, but if we can add someone of his caliber, then why not? He knows the triangle, he knows our coaches, he knows how to win, and believe it or not, he is still a dominating presence in the middle.

lakerfool - at some point you're going to have to let others have different opinions than you without getting sarcastic or vindictive sounding in your posts.

Safe to say both parties were at fault for the breakup. I would hope everyone would be over it by now. Your distaste for Kobe and your love of Shaq is well known. You don't have to snap back at everyone who doesn't agree with you.

If somebody formed a logical opinion saying that Shaq would not fit in with the team, then that makes sense.

If somebody is saying 'ooh ooh, Shaq doesn't get along with Kobe', then I have to call out the gap in logic right there.

Yet when people call out your gaps in logic, you get nothing but snippy and argumentative, often dwindling conversation into insults or smarmy comments that steer the subject away from the topic at hand.

You have got to allow for different opinions. If you don't life is going to be an arduous task for you.

Kobe had the power to ship Shaq out and he has the power to get Shaq now. Funny thing is he couldn't ship bynum's [expletive] out. Funny how life is. :dance1:

I don't see Suns buying out Shaq after the season. Why would they when that 20 million expiring K next year will be worth a lot more to them the way everyone is trying to get cap room for 2010? If Buss and/or Mitch wants to sign Shaq as a FA after the 2010 season then so be it. I don't care one way or other on that matter.

I don't have to form a "logical" opinion on you for Shaq. I could care less if they bring him back after 2010. There is no way you trade for him now though. I hope Kobe wins a title without Shaq this year and then ask your fat hero how his a^* tastes. Of course, Kobe has too much class to do that so that part won't happen.

Lol, if that did happen, Kobe would be gone this Summer anyways. Kobe wasn't going to stay with a line-up of Kidd, Kobe, Walton, Odom, Brown
