You know your just coming off as loud and obnoixious rather then defending yourself

Loud and Obnoxious?!?!? Jeeeez Thanks alot. I didn't know there was a sound pitch to my post.

Where did I say we can't win it without Shaq? Heck, I've said we're the favorites even without Bynum. And I specifically said we shouldn't trade for him. In fact, basically everyone said not to trade for him. Someone needs to pay attention to what everyone has said, instead of going loco when you don't even know what the heck is going on. Everyone here is saying to sign him after his contract expires. You're the one that needs to relax.

Well from the general impression which you said blah blah blah to my first post was that I was cool with signing SHaq when he is a free agent after the season.

I dont know why you thought I wasn't cool on signing SHaq after we win it this year with our current roster.

Dacos you came at me first without clearly reading my whole post.

Cool Guys, you don't like my opinion I am sorry for yall.
It's what I feel you could think the opposite thats cool.

I am through.

PEACE OUT

I ain't no One Laker player fan fool!!!!

Obviously you guys don't remember what Shaq said about the organization and Kobe after.

When Shaq asked to get traded he bashed Phil Jackson for not coaching the Heat, he bashed Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak for taking Kobe over him.

Mainly because after the Lakers paid him over 150 million in salary he wanted an extension of about the same for less years. Practically dissing Kobe of his Big pay day.

Thats why Kobe was shopping other teams like LAC,CHI,and DAL ext. I don't blame him.

When Kobe only had about 50 million paid for his services the first 5 years of his NBA career and was blossoming into a Mega Superstar.

You act like when he won with the Heat it wasn't a Slap in the Face to the whole Lakers Nation?!?!?!

You guys don't see how SELFISH SHAQ was back then, as all those verbal attacks where direct hits towards the Lakers in pure SPITE.

I know do whatever it takes for us to win the Championship no doubt , but you guys are losing all types of Credibility giving up on the team we have right NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

DREW COMES BACK AND WERE RIGHT THERE THE MAIN CONTENDERS!!!!

You guys who welcome Shaq with no regards of what he put this organization through his last couple of years do not remember what he did .
He wasn't willing to take less money to keep Kobe who hasn't got his mega deal pay day yet.

He is one of the greatest Lakers of all time but if we were to take Shaq over Kobe back them we wouldn't even be close to what we are now.

All this Laker player fan BS is just some of you guys being truly ignorant!!!

I bleed Laker purple and gold. An yes I am a huge Kobe Bryant Fan . He is the face of the LAL today.

But it is LAKERS before any one person.

Even when Sedale Threat was our go to guy Lakers ALL DAY!!!!!!!

Like my ese homie Vinny loves his Raiders is how I love my LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh BOO HOO, Shaq said some mean things when he got traded.

Be a man and stop being uber sensitive. People talk trash all the time. Like when Kobe wanted out and said of Bynum 'SHIP HIS ARSE OUT!', and yet people have selective memory and choose not to remember that.

What did he put the organization through?

4 FINALES APPEARANCES, 3 CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS. Rings>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Trash talk. Only females are sensitive about trash talk.

I'm about results, and Shaq brought great results. Odom continues to be inconsistent. If we can trade Odom for Shaq, you do that 10/10 times. Nobody is asking us to trade our big 3. But if we can trade Odom for him?

YES. If you say no to the deal, you care about Kobe's legacy more than winning.

Read LA Times today. Kobe doesn't want Shaq here and why should he? If Bynum comes back LA will be hand's down favorites to win NBA title without Shaq so no I don't forget how he trashed everything LA when he left to go to Miami. He isn't coming for MLE next year. He has a 20 million dollar contract with Suns next year and he isn't giving up 15 million to come to LA. Maybe the Kobe people make you sick, the Shaq lovers make me sick so I guess we all are sick together.

When did Kobe start making the decisions for the Lakers? I didn't know he became the GM.

Go back in read my post. I said offer him the MLE after next season, when his contract expires and he's a free agent.

I'm a Laker fan first and not a (player) fan first like some people who care more about Kobe's legacy than the Lakers.

Somebody gets it.

We're not talking about offering him the world. We're talking about offering him something reasonable.

Imagine having Shaq as your second string center going up against other team's second stringers. It's not even fair. Kobe gets to sit out, and we have a go to offensive option even on the bench.

Bynum gets in foul trouble, we still have a post presence.

I find it HILARIOUS that people keep talking about them not getting along. They each had their best years with one another. Phil is the master at personalities. It's a match made in heaven.

Do you guys really think Shaq is going to get a big contract in 2 years, especially with our current economy?

You can't trust Bynum to stay healthy for the whole season, when he hasn't played one whole season healthy.

Kobe and Shaq don't hate each other. How many times do they have to say this so you guys can understand? It's in the past and some of you guys need to move on and stop holding a grudge.

What risks are you talking about? Shake up the roster? As EVERYONE has said, we aren't going to trade anyone. This isn't about trades. We'll hopefully acquire him through free agency. Mihm's done after this year. Mbenga, I pray he's still not on the roster in 2 years. Shaq is a very viable option for backup center once his contract is up. He isn't playing back-to-backs but he's also playing starter minutes. He'll be averaging much less as a backup. And what's this about acquiring Amare? How does that make any sense?

Then this is not a smart debate.

Only thing I've said is the soonest Shaq to LAL will be viable or welcomed (by Kobe) would be this offseason and that would be by buyout. I don't think it would be good karma (metaphorically) for us to wish that Shaq sabotages the Suns season by derailing an already unstable train before the season ends.

And just like Shaq wanted to show that Kobe didn't make him, Kobe wishes to do the same. Is it selfish for Kobe but harmless/selfless for Shaq? Isn't that biased?

If I thought we needed Shaq, I'd say go for it. We don't. A move like this would be more about SHAQ fans than Kobe fans...even CONSIDERING it is not logical.

But if something happened and we could land Shaq for nothing? Why not?

Kobe will win a ring without Shaq this year. Kobe needs to prove that he can do it without him at his side, which he will. Once that is accomplished, the pressure will be lightened off of Kobe's shoulders significantly.

Shaq will finish his contract after next year on the Suns. He'll gladly come here (hopefully after a long, serious talk with the Buss family and an apology to the fans for calling of us "phony"), play the backup to Bynum and retire as a Laker and a champion at 39.

Number on wall, Kobe wins without him, the drama is wrapped up in a neat package and both will be on the wall (once Kobe hangs it up).

No trades, no fixing what isn't broken right now.

He clearly can't do it anymore. Did you see him out there? At age 36, it's trully a sight to see. Go Big Aristotle!

Though it was fun to see some of his stuff, it was still just an All-Star game, don't get too amped up about his play.

He's averaging 17/9/1.5 blks as a 37 year old. I think that says enough. Imagine him coming off the bench here, or him starting and having Bynum come off the bench. That's a title this year and next year easily.

well i can tell you bynum would start

we have invested way too much time and money in him for him to sit on the bench

Hey I wouldn't fight him coming off the bench at all.

But I'm also not dealing anybody right now. The Lakers are fine without him. When Shaq is a free agent, then it can be done. For now, you don't need to fix what ain't broke.

By the way Shaq's numbers are like that because the offense is focused around him. For a true measure I'd like to see what Shaq can do at this stage of his career as a role player (which he would be here ) instead of the #1 option.

Well for this year, Shaq would probably start, due to Bynum coming off of injury.

And Bynum wouldn't be a bench player by any means. Rather he'd be option number one off the bench, since Shaq is a better passer at this stage in his career. Bynum would be like Kevin McHale...super bench player. The funny thing too would be that Kobe, Fisher, Luke would all immediately be familiar playing with Shaq, while the 2nd unit's job would be to spread the floor and lob it to the big fella.

Shaq starts and gets 20-25 minutes, Bynum gets 30 minutes off the bench.

I'm completely concerned with our defense, and I'm not confident with an injured Bynum coming back. I'm Bynum's biggest believer, making the statement when he's healthy, he's our best player in the playoffs. But knee injuries are no joke. If we have a chance to ship Odom for Shaq, I think it's a good move to ensure a ring. And also to prevent the Cavs from getting him.

That's all fantasy - Shaq isn't coming here this year (unless its for Mbenga, Yue and Mihm).

Trade exception or not, I don't think Mitch's Super GM powers could pull that off - even with Kerr and the over-anxious salary-shedding Suns as the other party.

If they trade him for Odom/Mihm/TE, that saves the Suns 20 million plus more if you consider luxury tax. If financial trouble is what they're in, that's the best trade for them to make....aside from trading him for Wally's expiring. Shaq in the Cavs could mean trouble for us. We thrive the most when Igauskus gets in foul trouble, but imagine Shaq coming off the bench for them.

It would be odd to see him on the Cavs, but you're talking another team that is really hedging on significant deals right now. They've finally got it working there and a big change like that could throw what they've been getting right into the wrong column real quick like.

I don't deal Odom. The guy is a perfect fit for what the Lakers need, he is willing to settle for less money, doesn't need the ball to have an impact on the game and is willing to play any role Phil asks of him with very little dissent.

Like him or not, Odom is here to stay.

Let the Suns pay Shaq's ridiculous salary for now and get no playoffs from it. I'll take him as a free agent, for the vet minimum and reap the benefits then. In the meantime, I'll settle for 2 more rings for the Lakers.

well my issue with odom is will he pull an antonio bryant and get a nice long term deal and coast again

why do i get the feeling this is another contract player all of a sudden he started playing hard

as if phil pulled him aside and told him he was out unless he performed

a guy like shaq, amare wouldn't coast well shaq might but i love LO but dude coasts more than east and west unless his money or LA house is in danger
