He's somewhere in the middle but he's been leaning towards the brilliant side lately.

This is no longer a debate after the team Mitch has built.

No twisted logic will show that Mitch is incompetent at his job. he was trained by the best and the results are now coming in, in droves.

West made his fair share of bad deals too. Somehow time has erased a lot of them, but history will show that GM's are (and this may come as a shock to some) human, just like you and me.

people expect perfection if every GM never made bad picks or bad signings there would be 30 dynasties

bad decisions are made but its the end result that matters not how you got there in the GM position if your a contender you did your job and did a great job at that if your in the lottery you failed

we are a contender that was built from nothing in 3 years

mitch is GREAT

Picks Bynum

Trades Kwame for Gasol

With Kobe whining, doesn't give in and trade Bynum for Kidd

Trades Cook for Ariza

Finales within 3 years of trading away a HOF center

Yeah, Mitch is kind of a big deal.
Gooden>> Lamar Odom. Mo Williams>> Ray Allen>> Gasol. Nene= Gasol.

His recent deal for Radmanovic was massive too.

It will allow the Lakers to retain Trevor while giving the Lakers 2 guys that can contribute right now as opposed to one guy who wasn't playing at all.

Mitch isn't a bonehead so that makes him brilliant I assume. I like the job he is doing.

The Gasol trade alone has absolved him of any past or future wrong doings for the rest of his life and beyond....

Thank you, Jerry West.

Mitch is brilliant! :dance1:
  • Drafted Bynum, Ronny, Farmar, Crittenton, Gasol, Sasha, and Wafer (He's playing good for the Rockets).
  • Traded a 2nd round pick for Mo Evans.
  • Signed Josh Powell.
  • Traded Aaron McKie, Javaris Crittenton, Kwame Brown, the draft rights to Marc Gasol, first-round picks in 2008 and 2010 and cash to the Memphis Grizzlies for Pau Gasol.
  • Signed Phil Jackson to a contract extension.
  • Traded Brian Cook and Maurice Evans to the Orlando Magic for Trevor Ariza.
  • Traded Jumaine Jones to the Charlotte Bobcats for a conditional second-round pick.
  • Traded Kareem Rush to the Charlotte Bobcats for two second-round picks.
  • Traded Shaquille O'Neal for Odom, Gasol, and Farmar.
  • Signed Gary Payton and Karl Malone.
  • Didn't re-sign Devean George.
  • Traded Lindsey Hunter and the draft rights to forward Chris Jefferies to the Toronto Raptors for Tracy Murray and the rights to guard Kareem Rush.
  • Signed Shaquille O'Neal to a contract extension.
  • Re-signed Kobe Bryant
  • Didn't trade Bynum and Farmar for Kidd.
  • Didn't trade Bynum and Odom for JO.
  • Didn't trade Bynum, Odom, and Farmar for KG.
  • Didn't trade Kobe Bryant.
Almost traded Butler and Divac for Boozer.

He built a championship team for now and the team still has a great future with Bynum, Farmar, and Ariza.
