Shannon Brown played with LeBron James, starting nine games over two seasons in the Cavs backcourt with the superstar.

Brown also played alongside Chicago’s Derrick Rose and Charlotte’s Raja Bell.

But none seems to have stirred Brown’s enthusiasm as lining up alongside Kobe Bryant, even if it’s only on the practice court. The new Lakers guard said he is excited to see the MVP up close, perhaps pick up a few ball-handling tricks.

“I want to see his work ethic, you know,” Brown said. “I’ve only heard about it, of course, what he does night in and night out, all that Team USA and stuff.

“But to actually see how he works out and be able to steal some stuff is awesome.”

Brown said the prospect of playing with Bryant isn’t intimidating as much as “an honor.”

“He deserves everything he’s gotten,” Brown said. “He’s worked hard for them and now he’s reaping the benefits.”

I don't expect much out of them, but I absolutely love Brown and 'Stache's attitude and upside. Our locker room chemistry is amazing and good organizations have a way of bringing out the best in players (see Boston, last year).
