SOURCE

McGrady Could Be Out For Season

HOUSTON -- Rockets guard Tracy McGrady could miss the remainder of the season, according to sources close to Local 2 sports. An MRI revealed missing cartilage in his left knee, which may require microfracture surgery to repair.

The possibility remains, however, that McGrady will try to finish the season. Dr. James Andrews, generally regarded as the premier orthopaedic surgeon in the country for this type of injury, will review the MRI before a final decision is made. Andrews advised those close to McGrady, that a microfracture surgery should only be used in a career saving situation.

McGrady and the Rockets will discuss options in a meeting at Toyota Center prior to tonight's game against Sacramento. At this point, the Rockets have no comment on the situation.

WOW. This is truly incredible.

Missing that lay-up really put things into perspective, eh?

He should retire as soon as possible. He is a joke for the fans in Houston. However, he is still a very good player, a 25-game/season player.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

If he does requires a microfracture surgery, then T-mac is done...

Grant Hill
Chris Webber
Kenyon Martin
Jamal Mashburn
Amare Stoudemire
Penny Hardaway
Darius Miles
Allan Houston
Brian Grant
Antonio McDyess

All this guy were never the same since they got one... It's painful to watch him play, seeing that self-blocked layup... Chris Mihm could finish that...

my team is screwed too. al jeff, g-wall, and now aldridge and duhon..

but T-mac should have reinvented his game like Kobe and VC, other than sticking to slasher for his whole career..MJ and Domonique did the same thing...it does a lot of damage on your knees.

Exactly, how is this really really hard to believe at all?

I hope the best for him, is he even 30? Dude is just pain right now, no game. Get the surgery ASAP and see if you can get your career back on track.

lol, exactly what I was thinking.

Tmac is always injured. Even though I never really liked him, I hope he can have a successful recovery. It's sad to see players inevitably break down during their last years in the NBA because of Micro fracture surgery.
