That makes more sense. But saying Shaq wouldn't help this team win sounded like sour grapes.

but of those people who voted in the poll, I'm assuming all of those who said yes, hopefully are all in agreement that they would want him back AFTER his current contract expires and ONLY if for cheap or mid level ish, IF NOT, and they want him back NOW, would even trade for his $20 million contract, well now, that's just crazy.

I myself put maybe because of that meaning it more towards the future potentially if those things happen (he wants to come for MLE).

Yea there's absolutely no reason to take on his 20 mil contract with all the talent we have. We don't need him, plain and simple, at least not at this point. But whatever super team is built with those 2010 free agents, I'd welcome any talent we can get FOR CHEAP.

By the time Shaq is ready to come to the Lakers, the MLE will be the mac he can get. Buss would make 6 times that on ticket and merchandise revenue alone...Shaq/Kobe part 2? You can't write an ending better than that.

I vote yes. If they win this year, I'd lobby for him to take a buy out (15 mil) from PHO so he can take the MLE from us the upcoming year. That way, he doesn't lose anything and we don't have to trade any significant pieces to get him.

1 million dollars AFTER his contract is out. If kobe doewsnt have a title without him, then i will still take him...but only in those conditions.
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

We still need a back up center. Do you want Mihm playing?

Shaq will never accept a 2nd option role... He'll disrupt our chemistry too. And I won't trade guys for a man who's retiring after the next season. Say NO to Shaq !

You people saying yes now know Lamar would have to be included don't you? No way I ever want him back. He is a cancer. I sure don't want his 20 million back and get rid of Lamar. I want LA to find a way to keep Lamar and Trevor not add a 20 million a year cancer. I don't like Shaq and yes I know needs a big upgrade over Mihm and DJ. That is another story. It is sad LA has two backup centers and neither can play. I wish they could trade Mihm and Sun for Andray Blatche. that would be awesome.

You know it's a 50/50 thing to me. Would be nice to have him back and all but thing is is that he's getting old. Plus to me we're playing just fine without him. I don't want people saying Oh look you see! Lakers cannot do it without Shaq! We wanna prove to people that we can make it without him.

Yeah, what a cancer. He's been to 6 NBA Finals. Shows how much he kills the team
