I really like how Shannon said hustle and defense a lot when he was asked what was expected from him, hopefully he can learn from Fisher on his shooting mechanics, how to take charges, and just using his speed and athleticism (which Fish has lost) to stay in front of his man, we have good teachers on this team.

who knows...maybe if Luke sucks tonight we can see if Morrison can go in and hit us some 3s and Brown can give Farmar and Fish extended rest.

^ Amen homie. Although Sasha is still quite valuable to us and our team, there is no doubt he has had an overall disappointing season, especially compared to last season (contract year), hence no surprise.

The thing that bothers me most about Sasha other than his great inconsistency this year in hitting the outside shot, is specifically with his defense that horrible habit of him being lazy or stupid and reaching in from behind almost everytime he just lets his man drive past him easily. He usually gets called for a stupid foul too or if not, just lets his man score on him taking all the way to the rim or putting his other teammates in potential foul trouble.

Indeed, hopefully he will have a leash on him now with Shannon there, who's definitely a way better defender & more athletic, and plus, maybe it can even spark some more passion in Sasha once again and get his competitive juices flowing more since he knows someone's perhaps a little hungrier than him and better than him in certain areas.

^^^^ yep leashes are what win championships because if every player has a leash then they will always perform

when farmar lost his leash his game suffered

bynum and ariza are the only ones on this team out of the young guys that has still succeeded even after their leashes left

Yeah, we remember how well Farmar played when he had Crit playing behind him.

Sasha better get his act together though. He needs to start knocking down shots for the Lakers again.

yup! exactly. when players are threatened with another player and losing some PT, usually it forces the either guy to become more motivated.
This is a bad example, but when Smush was on the team and Farmar was coming up behind him, instead of Smush getting better, he crumbled. Hopefully it has an opposite effect on Sasha.

^ It already happened last night as Sasha had an old Sasha-like game finally. Of course that's just one of many games now, but let's see if we start to see some greater consistency now.
