Al Jefferson injured his right knee Sunday night late in the fourth quarter against the New Orleans Hornets.

"I just came down wrong on it. I felt it pop," Jefferson said. "I don't want to think about it until I get my X-ray tomorrow."

Jefferson, the key piece in the Kevin Garnett trade, leads the team in scoring (23.1 ppg), rebounding (10.9 rpg) and blocks (1.69 bpg). The Timberwolves lost the game 101-97 despite 25 points and 14 boards from Jefferson.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves star center Al Jefferson is out indefinitely with a torn ACL in his right knee.

The team said that an MRI performed Monday morning discovered the extent of the damage done to the knee a night before when Jefferson landed awkwardly late in the game against New Orleans.

I saw this live when it happened via the league pass. Hope it's nothing too serious. Wish him the best.

Yeah, definitely not good. Hope he gets better and the injury isn't that serious.

He blocked someones shot then landed hard on the ground and fell near Bryon Scott. This sucks majorly because he got injured in like 10 secs left in the 4th quarter.

But damn..a lot of players getting injured. not good.

Horrible news...

Sad to think how Bynum and Jefferson were both talking to each other after their game - a high level of respect for two future big studs... and then both go down with knee injuries..

tried to block somebody's shot 27 seconds left and landed normally but with all his weight on his right leg (the one he injured). the t.wolves were on a roll too, too bad. i'm sure k.love with thrive now that he's going to be thrust sooner into big ALs shoes.

he was on mine too. me and my bros were actually watching this on league pass and my brother, who also tore his acl, said to expect the worst even though he was putting weight on it as he was walking into the locker room. right away, i offered him to everbody, i eventually got emeka okafor and thaddues young for him. haha the guy who i traded him to is all mad now.

Gosh I just got league pass this year and was really starting to become a fan of his game. I wanted to see him play out the rest of the year. Such an improved player.
