I found this on HoopsWorld in the Vlad article check it out

Recently the Phoenix Suns have shopped big men Amar'e Stoudemire and Shaquille O'Neal around the league. Sources say the Lakers had some rudimentary discussions with the Suns but that there isn't much common ground between the two organizations. Now picture an Odom for Shaquille O'Neal trade - that would bump LA's salary to around $133 million next season. Amar'e may be slightly cheaper, but $121 million is still more than Dr. Buss is willing to pay. Lamar Odom may have his flaws but he's a better defender at this point than both O'Neal and Stoudemire.

Could this trade lead to a bigger trade with Phoenix?

as of right now no cause it would lead to a logjam between bynum, gasol & amare. So if we dd get Amare it's a clear sign Bynum or Gasol will be traded. I highly doubt we get Amare but if we do then Gasol or Bynum are gone

i would based on the fact hes 25 and an all star

do i think hes selfish? yes

do i think he plays defense? no

is he an all star talent who is really young and could be bookend frontcourt with bynum? yes

hes too talented to not make the deal

regardless of what it does to chemistry the end result has too much upside to not do it

Odom and fillers for Amare? Yes please. Amare would be awesome next to Kobe. He's developed a J. He finishes strong. And, most importantly, he's big.

he's 26.

you ask me this last year before we got gasol, and i'd say yes. but the way our situation is, no. he's got a lot of talent but too much ego to be bumped down to a 6th man.

The problem is when Drew is back who goes to the bench? Maybe rent Amare for 1 year then trade him for Deng in the offseason.
09-10 Lakers
Fisher
Bryant
Deng
Gasol
Bynum
