The NBA announced today that a statistical error was made during the Cleveland Cavaliers-New York Knicks game on Feb. 4 at Madison Square Garden.

Cavaliers forward LeBron James was incorrectly credited with a rebound with 39.3 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter that should have been awarded to Cleveland forward Ben Wallace. Due to the correction, James finished Wednesday’s game with nine rebounds – one rebound short of a triple-double – while Wallace ended with two rebounds.

So whats better: Kobe's 61 or Lebron's near triple double :P

that is ridiculous and should not have been done

you either review it right after the game or leave it alone

lebron deserved the triple double

well then again apparently not

but still that is horrible

It is dissapointing they took it away, but he didn't get his "9th" rebound here:

I'm actually glad. It's not because of Lebron, it's just because of twits that go out of their way to compare the performance, and talk about the "50 pt. triple double".

You can't simply view statistics in a vacuum, and to me, this game is evidence of this.

Do you really think any less of LBJ's performance, simply because they took that rebound away?

I sure don't (although, I laughed a little when I found out about it), and I wouldn't have thought less of the performance if he had not chosen to go running out of bounds for that rebound at the end of the game, just so he could "secure" the triple-double.

One more thing, people tend to forget Kobe already put up 53/10/8 against the Houston Rockets....

Of course he cares, he tried so hard to one-up Kobe and he tried even harder to get his last 2 reb.

That is awesome. Haha!

Why awesome, hater

It must have been a crab rebound.

LMAO. I actually was laughing at this forever hahahahahahah

And now right away his performance is not NEAR as great as it was as a TD. No one remembers almost triple doubles, no one cares about em.

Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Posted ImageThe NBA has decided that LeBron James did NOT record a triple-double in the Cleveland Cavaliers' recent win over the New York Knicks. LeBron was awarded a rebound in the final minute of Tuesday's game, which NBA statisticians have now taken away. So the final stat line for LeBron will run: 52 points, 11 assists, and nine boards.
