Lakers were on top of the NBA world. They were a pick for favorites to win it all. But an injury to Andrew Bynum has changed that all.

Now, all we hear from different media outlets is that its between the Celtics and Cavs. Lakers have a shot to get back to the Finals, but they will not win the title.

Even after a win on the road against the defending champs cannot change the mind of the doubters. But is this a good thing?

Personally, I believe that being the underdog makes the Lakers all that more dangerous. How can people doubt the Lakers that have a duo of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol? How can people doubt the coach who has nine rings?

It doesn't make sense. It angers me to hear these analysts say that the Lakers will get smashed in the Finals once again if they make it there. They use last year as their sources for their claim. Well guess what all you so called NBA analysts, that was last year and last season. This is a more experienced Lakers squad who is ready to get back to the championship.

So even though it angers me to hear the analysts doubt the Lakers, please continue doing it. It will make it that much more sweeter when the Lakers are holding up the championship in June.

I think that helps keep Lamar hungry and anything that does that has to be good for LakeShow. Kobe and Pau will be fine, but they need help and Lamar stepped up huge last night.

I like the Lakers as the underdogs. It's always better to go into a game with a chip on your shoulder as opposed to over-confident and thinking you've already won.

i would prefer to go into the finals underdogs...i think Boston benefited from that angle last season, the edge it gave them mentally, and the cockiness being favored gave us

What ? The Celtics never were underdogs... We were... Boston made the big trades, had the best record, homecourt, toughness...

every ESPN analyst picked us to win except that punk tim legler

because we strolled through the west playoffs and the west was considered stronger

while boston struggled and developed resolve and mental toughness by fighting for their lives all playoffs and coming out of it alive

yep and thats what gave boston the extra push they needed

boston was the favorite in the regular season but once the playoffs started and we got to the finals and so did they the different roads put us as the favorites

what is ironic is the different roads are what lead to bostons mental toughness and our mental weakness
