"We certainly won't sit back and just assume (the best)," Jackson said before the Lakers defeated the Toronto Raptors, 115-107. "We'll talk about it. We'll try to improve the club if there's a necessary thing to do. That's what you have to do in this business."

A back up C who can provide mins would be nice maybe a minor deal for our 2.5 exp k, if they can move or find someone that wants Vlad that would be great.

Did he really say anything we didn't know? Of course coaches and front offices are always open to making their teams better whether it be through trade or free agency. All coaches would probably say the same thing or similar.

Exactly. We're already deep in the serviceable backup center department. We're going to have Andrew back. We were 31-17 at the same juncture last year and finished 26-8 with essentially the same ballclub we have now, minus Trevor Ariza. Don't look for a deal from Mitch unless someone comes along and makes him an offer he can't refuse.

Shaq has made that request already. Pray the Suns keep losing and they decide to rebuild and Kerr has a soft spot in his heart for PJ.

Shaq would be for the Playoffs. Bynum's an unproven playoff guy even though I love his game.

Last year when Bynum went down, my grand entrance into a different forum was proposing that the Lakers trade Kwame Brown and his expiring contract, Buzz Kill and J Crit for Shaq (there may have been more to it, but I forget). Mitch one-upped me! Look, I'd be all for Shaq returning, but he'd have to be good with it in every way and the Suns would have to take Radmanovic off our hands in the deal if they are going to get Lamar and his expiring contract. The problem arises in the playoffs because I think it would be hard to have Bynum and Shaq on the floor at the same time. They are both pure back to the basket centers, although Bynum does have that little mid-range jumper. The bigger problem will be on defense, where we would once again be high screen and rolled to death. Look what's going on with the Suns!

I say leave things be and continue to hope and pray for a speedy recovery for Drew.

That was just non-speak used as filler

Still feel the same? :dance1:

Sometimes, the best trade is one that noone has thought of...I like this one for many reasons...most of which is the direction it takes the team, which is most important for longevity.

Exactly. Morrison's contract expires next year, Brown's this year. Buzz Kill and his contract were an impediment. Isn't it interesting the team that the Lakers deal with? Bobcats - Philip/MJ connection. Memphis - Jerry West. Orlando- ??? Kevin McKale could have had Andrew Bynum and LO, but he chose to deal with his friends. Perhaps it is working out for him given Bynum's injuries. Who knows.
