And keep Pau at his PF, Odom as 6th man, etc?

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.

Mbenga our starter? Mbenga is the biggest case of fan overrating that I've ever seen. There's a reason why he spent over half he season last year without a team, and it isn't because he was waiting for a contender to pick him up like PJ Brown. Nobody wanted him. We only got him out of complete desperation.

how you figure that? mihm is way better than mbenga at everything mainly offense and his defense is probably equal or greater than his too.

Mbenga is our 5th string center.

Bynum, Gasol, Powell, Mihm, Mbenga.

The prospect of starting him is just mind-boggling.

What if we started our bench mob and brought our current starters off the bench? Just imagine: Kobe-Pau-Bynum off the bench! Best bench in the league! :nervous:

I think starting Powell is NOT a bad idea...

The guy's gonna hold his own, GRAB REBOUNDS, and knock down Js consistently.

It's not like he plays big minutes off the bench ANYWAY.

That way we don't lose our RHYTHM of having

Odom-Ariza-Sasha-Farmar off the bench...

I guess Powell, but the thing is this Thursday, if Gasol palys C, he will be manhandled by Perkins and KG will manhandle Odom as seen last year, what I thought about was having a strong C, like Mbenga manhandle Perkins that way KG's going to have to guard Gasol. Maybe Powell wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.

Actually, that's the first thing on this thread that made any sense. This way you have Lamar on the court when Pau's resting. The only problems with this are 1) it would infuriate Lamar and 2) Lamar and Pau have great chemistry. It's not like this is something new to this squad. We sliced through the West on our way to the NBA Finals with this team. Turiaf's absence is meaningless and Trevor's presence is meaningful. In theory though, I like the idea.

i tastefully disagree with your assessment. And with all due respect that was a douchebag of a statement. per Ricky Bobby
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Yea, it's just a thought really... but it COULD work in terms of keeping our flow smooth...

because let's face it, Powell-Pau-Luke-Kobe-Fisher is not a bad lineup AT ALL.

However you are right that Pau and Odom do have great chemistry on the court together...

And Powell can definitely backup Odom at the PF. We don't know how smooth to have Powell-Ariza-Sasha-Farmar out there... in theory I think my first idea sounds better... but who knows?
