Other fans are calling it a dirty play and that Bynum should be suspended. What do you guys think?

Also, what if that was Kobe and Okafor the one committed the foul? how would you feel?

I was sitting right in front of the play and it wasn't Bynum's foul as much as it was the way Wallace fell.

No suspension necessary. If Bynum gets suspended than the foul on Pau also warrants one. No, the league can't be that hair trigger on suspensions.

I'm starting to think Wallace got hurt off the collision with the floor than the "so called elbow" Andrew threw. Is Andrew even making intentional contact with the elbow on Wallace's ribs?

The turning away from the contact almost looked like he tried to "grab him" to prevent him from going up. But no, no suspension.

You can't suspend someone for an inadvertent hit with a player flying down the lane - not when it wasn't to the head imo. Bynum was stupid to turn but his elbow was upward - not thrusting into Wallace. Just a really unfortunate collision.

Now we know why Wallace's nickname is "CRASH" :hmm:

A warning and maybe a fine. Bynum was too far away to make a play so this would be justified.

Fido said it all. But man, if that elbow caused a fractured rib and a punctured lung, then I'll take this loss any day in exchange for the notice that the league has now been put on! I had no idea he was that strong!

Damn, Wallace got hurt real badly:

Wallace was diagnosed as having between 30 and 40 percent of his left lung collapsed and a non-displaced fracture of the fifth rib after being examined at a Los Angeles hospital. He had a chest tube inserted to help restore the lung to functional capacity, but will remain hospitalized for the next 48 hours for observation, the team said.

Damn, thats pretty crazy. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

But if they suspend Bynum, then they should suspend Morrison for going right across the head. IMO.

I agree with you W21, if Bynum had the intention of hurting Wallace he would have just creamed him, he had the opportunity but clearly you can see on the replay Bynum was going for the arms but Wallce move the arms to avoid Bynum and AD just got him in the rib cage, it sucks that Wallace has a collapsed lung from a hard foul, but AD had no intentions of hurting Wallace.

My concerned is that the league will start to look at Bynums fouls, in the last couple of games he had some pretty hard fouls, I hope that's not the case.

Man if he doesn't contest the shot he's considered soft, he commits a hard foul, he's dirty

Just can't win...

That's something that has been frustrating in this decade what is a hard foul, the league is just all over the place on that, it was a hard foul, they called a flagrant and it's done.

Now the referees had the opportunity to called a Flagrant 2 or eject Bynum, so we will see if the league sees the same thing.

Cha. media wants 15 game suspension!?

The charlotte paper is saying it was dirty and due to how bad the injury is. He could be suspended up to 15 games. So laker fans don't be shocked if this is the case and it doesn't shock me to see classless acts from some laker fans.

Also check this quote out:

“After 21 years of covering the NBA, I think I know the difference between rugged and dirty.

What Andrew Bynum did to Gerald Wallace Tuesday was dirty.”

Those are the words of Charlotte Observer reporter Rick Bonnell, who went on to suggest that if Bynum doesn’t watch it, “his destiny is to end up a hockey goon.”

Wow, I understand that everyone in Charlotte is worried about Gerald Wallace but that's a little extreme. 15 games? No way, what I saw was a guy running full speed into a wall. It didn't even look like a hard impact though.

You can see that Andrew's elbow is in the way when Wallace is coming thru
