Pistons' guard Allen Iverson has heard all the critics that believe he's to blame for the team's struggles, but claims he has more to offer in Detroit.

"I just feel like I can offer a little more to the team," said Iverson. "I can help us do more to win basketball games.

"When the opportunity presents itself, I'll be right here to take on the challenge. I'm going to stay positive, stay focused, keep believing in my teammates when I'm not in the game and keep trusting them when I am in the game."

bad trade from the beginning, in all honesty, i do think that AI would be better served on the spurs since they have 0 offense outside of their big 3

Mark this trade down as a done deal Piston won't trade A.I. unless they get a good deal back in return and with this deal they get rid of A.I., Rip is back starting with Stucky and maybe the Piston can return to that elite level

as i said before the pistons would have been better off the way their team was constructed trading chauncey for odom

stuckey is a baller which i called from day 1 i love this kids game and odom would have given them a rebounder who would have fit seemlessly into their team because of his unselfish nature also they would have had one of the most complete line-ups in the league with fantastic depth and would have been a force in the east

the fans in detroit would have hated it early but loved it late

rasheed/ maxiell
lamar/ johnson
prince/ hermman
rip/ afflalo
stuckey/ farmar

that team can compete with the celtics

while we would have had

andrew/ mihm
gasol/ powell
vlad/ ariza
kobe/ sasha
billups/ fisher

ok looking at that i could see what would hold the pistons back but still would have been a much better trade for this year and next year

i think both the lakers and pistons missed the boat on this trade

The move was purely a salary dump move. What bigger expiring was out there than Iverson?

marbury

It's about the same thing, and at least AI could put butts on the seats during the last year of his contract while nobody comes to watch Marbury.

Exactly.... It's a win-win scenario really...

They need a goto guy, and as much as you hate Iverson, he's still a goto guy... Plus they got rid of Chauncey's contract... Will sell some tickets too... If they sucked, no big deal, just let him walk... Forget 2010, they are rebuilding by next season...

the problem is they need to let IVERSON BE IVERSON. But they have a lot of egos on that team and no Ben Wallace. But they have 20 mil next year, and i believe Rashhed is over also, so thats money to spend
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

33 million expiring, plus another 10 million in Hamilton expiring next season.

I don't know if they will spend. It looks like they're getting ready for the collapse of Detroit's economy.
