The banished Stephon Marbury acknowledged for the first time yesterday he has a verbal commitment from the Celtics - and accused the Knicks of not accepting his latest buyout offer because they don't want him winning a championship in Boston.

A frustrated Marbury said the Knicks were playing "kids games," adding "It's got to be personal."...

I'm a DIE HARD Clippers fan, and proud. I respect the Lakers and watch them every chance I get.

Respect me and I'll respect you. Don't respect me... we'll cross that bridge when we get there :)

I think the Lakers are still in the mix for him. I know we just got Farmar back but I can definately see the Lakers picking up Marbury to add more depth to the already dangerous bench.

He just won't get the playing time he wants if he joins us... I don't think a healthy Lakers team needs any kind of additional depth or firepower...

Any type of “verbal agreement” with a player currently under contract with another team might fall into the "tampering" penalty.

Tampering:“Penalties for tampering include suspension of the offending person, prohibition of the offending team from hiring the person being tampered with, forfeiture of draft picks, and individual and/or team fines of up to $5 million.”

Also, Marbury may have just blown his chance with the Celtics.

He also claims he could sign with two teams:

In an hourlong interview with The Post, Marbury also said another NBA team has made an overture toward him. Miami is known to have expressed interest.

I know I’ll be able to sign with two teams,” Marbury told The Post.

This is very true.

The Knicks could take the Celtics to court for this...seriously, it has happened many times before. Although the prosecuting team usually doesn't win this case (meaning the worst the Celtics will get is a small fine and a slap on the wrist)

We'll see if Doc Rivers comes out and says that since they are the reigning NBA Champions, they should be able to tamper with whatever players they want.
