Elton Brand is expected to return for the 76ers this weekend, and the team is hoping to continue running as they have while the forward has been out with a separated shoulder.

"We really need to get up and down more in practice probably, but it looks like [Brand] is ready to go," point guard Andre Miller said. "It's big for this team, [but] we still want to continue what we've been doing. I think he's had an opportunity to sit on the side and watch. He's prepared himself for that.

"It's pretty mental now," Miller said. "We don't want to look at him coming back being a distraction on the chemistry and all that type of stuff. He's a player that can adjust to a certain situation, and I think he'll do that."

they don't need to trade him just put him at center and have him run with them

brand at center makes them faster than dalembert at center

It's kind of shocking that Philly is doing way better without him. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Hahaha what a joke. I called it too- I knew they were a fast breaking team and it would kill them. I was saying it from anger back then, but hey- I guess I make accurate assumptions when I'm angry :)

He's not a better running center than Dalembert. He doesn't have as much stamina, isn't the quickest even though he's not slow, but his main strengths are posting up and face up jump shots in the half court.
I'm a DIE HARD Clippers fan, and proud. I respect the Lakers and watch them every chance I get.

Respect me and I'll respect you. Don't respect me... we'll cross that bridge when we get there :)

Elton just never recovered right from that devastating injury last year. Getting an injury like that as a big man at that stage in his career, its really tough to come back full strength.

honestly i just dont think the starters work well with brand in the lineup, instead of the offense being "free-flowing", its more geared to work around him (like if he was still on the clippers), he is still good but not the same brand from the last 5 years because of the injury

well with brand now seeing the team play successful without him he could come in and be their center and play to their strengths not them play to his

i would rather have brand running the floor and finishing then dalembert

Not only that, but it's even tougher to join a team who is a run and gun type of team.

Wow, they need to look at the long term instead of the short term.

Yeah, a few extra regular season wins is great, playoffs are awesome. But the only shot they have at going deep into the playoffs is with a guy like Brand. Let them stick with this team with Brand playing limited minutes and watch what happens in the playoffs. Everyone knows what is going to happen.
