DALLAS - A Texas high school girls basketball team on the winning end of a 100-0 game has a case of blowout remorse. Now officials from The Covenant School say they are trying to do the right thing by seeking a forfeit and apologizing for the margin of victory.

"It is shameful and an embarrassment that this happened," Kyle Queal, the head of the school, said in a statement, adding the forfeit was requested because "a victory without honor is a great loss."

Civello didn't expect his girls to win. He never really does. His girls haven't won a game in his four seasons at the White Rock Lake-area school, renowned for its work with students with a variety of learning problems. In most games, they haven't come close.

Only 20 girls in the whole high school? Talk about unbalanced.

I would have played zone the whole game at least then your team can get some work instead of making steals all game. The other coach should have requested to the "winning" coach to back into a zone.

Why is the winning team embarressed? The other team should be.

The other team was embarrassed during the game, the winning team was embarrassed after the game. Both were embarrassed. :turrible:

they are embarrassed because they basicly beat up on a team with mental problems.

renowned for its work with students with a variety of learning problems. In most games, they haven't come close.

thats why they feel bad, because if it was a normal team no problems, but they beat up on a team of mental problems.

My team won 108-6 once, I felt so bad for em after the game. But we did play zone after we were up by like 20 (5 mins in). And we spread the ball so it helped. I got 24 :D career high at the time!

But yeah at the end of trouncings like that both teams just feel like [expletive].
