One stat that really makes me smile is the following:

  • Since the 1986-87 season, Andrew Bynum (42 points) is the first Laker not named Shaquille O'Neal to have a 40-point, 15-rebound game. Shaq did it seven times with Los Angeles.

A few things make me believe we are truly spoiled with Kobe's greatness and Bynum's first 40 point game could elevate him a ton.

LD2K, you know what else this means?

If Bynum can keep producing All Star calibur numbers, this means not only will the Lakers be in contention for years to come... but Kobe can keep playing for many more years... sorta the way Kareem went on a ride with Magic and Worthy... Kobe can play 17-19 season, etc. because of Bynum. Andrew's improvement is more significant than most people think.

And then factor in Ariza's youth with Sasha, Farmar and Gasol. Who are all fairly young as well.
