re: Keeping Luke in starting lineup?: “I put him out there for reasons that are internal in our organization and Vlade got to play a little bit. But Vlade’s done a good job starting out there. I’ve been pleased with what he’s done with our team in the last week and a half.”

Interesting choice of words... again. I believe this is the second time he mentioned "internal reasons." Trade brewing? Who knows, who cares... the team is taking care of business but this is very interesting to keep an eye on.

Something is going on for sure.

Maybe he wanted to make a point to one of the players?

Or maybe Luke gave Phil a :o .

Isn't it obvious?

Phil has started Walton to showcase his talents, they want to trade his contract.

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.

Reggie just said that Vlad came to shootaround very late before the Clips game, so might be cuz of that.

i just heard that too..
BUT why would Phil say "in our organization"
I dont think showing up late to shootaround late is considered an 'internal issue'

True. I remember when Bynum was late for a game last season - very early - and Phil told the media what happened; never said anything about "internal" reasons.

Interesting none the less.

Set your alarm, Vlade!

No idea, maybe he was embarrassed for Vlad this time. Or maybe they made up this story about Vlad to cover up the real issue of trading Luke.

I wouldn't read too much into that (and no, they didn't make the alarm clock story up to cover up a trade). The internal reasons are Vladi's absent-mindedness.

I like Radmanovic but I can totally see how he'd be frustrating. There's no legitimate excuse for showing up so late to shoot around like he did. that alarm clock excuse is ridiculous.

Guaranteed that's the "internal" reason.

I think Radmanovic is becoming a piss and moaner behind the scenes. He is also probably butting heads with Phil a lot.

I think Phil's clearly playing mind games here. Rad is by far our most laidback and complacent player who has the hardest time keeping focus. Last year he was dynamite for us...and the reason was he promised he'd redeem himself from the snowboarding incident. Perhaps Phil is benching him now to motivate him to play harder later in the year and in the playoffs where we really need him the most. He can afford to be benched right now.

So my guess is Phil's probably trying to keep him hungry

the reason that is internal to the organization is probably that vlade is still a space cadet, but phil doesn't see the value in embarrassing vlade publicly anymore. it hasn't worked and, besides, he's still shooting great from the 3 and spreads the floor. i guess they're just gonna treat him like he's "special" and not talk about it and hope he eventually gets his head screwed on straight. vlade's alarm better go off soon (not the one in his house).

Radmanovic and Phil have butted heads for a long time now.
